If that is what is going on then it is deplorable, but I really didn't get that impression when watching it. Someone said something like, "You wanted to be part of the game," which makes me think the genius guys were all punching each other in the balls prior to this. We have no idea what is going on here. You can object on the grounds that you find the humor crass, or the fact that there is a video about it crass, or just because you did not find it funny. That I have no issue with.

But to have an extensive argument based on zero knowledge about the actual situation, especially because you are assigning horrible (or wonderful, I suppose) personality types to people you don't and will never know, makes no sense. If I came on here, read these comments, and started saying that person X was a shut-in who had never touched a woman, lived in his mom's basement and had no idea about how the world really worked, person Y was a sexist twat who didn't respect women and thought hitting them was okay, and person Z was a sexist twat who thought women were made of china and couldn't take rough-housing with a man because they are weaker and feebler, the only thing I would prove is that I was an opinionated moron. I happened to be in the Sift Lounge when this vid was presented for possibly posting -- by one of the sweetest kindest people on the Sift. I tried to dissuade it from being posted -- not because this vid is so horrible -- she did agree to the frat boy stupidness, for whatever reason.

I was afraid of the comment stream that would follow.

The link above by Larsarus -- not funny, no way funny, not dark humor just violent towards women, and telling that it came from the same website as this post. I was afraid that there would be many many posts circling around variations of that deep down ugliness.

Seeing a girl involved in this sort of stupid behavior is a first for me and quite unexpected. On the one hand, I find this video hugely distasteful. On the other, everyone appears to be participating voluntarily and I don't see anything in this vid encouraging guys to hit women. In fact, they clearly state this is the first time they're trying this with a woman and she certainly seems willing to participate.

The guys' reaction to her being punched seems more to me to be about the absurdity and novelty of the situation (as well as the puncher's ludicrous style of punching) than about getting off on hurting specifically women. They most likely would have laughed their asses of just as hard if she had punched him in the nuts instead.

So, no upvote from me, but no downvote either on this one.

LarsaruS's link on the other hand gets the downvote for sure--I don't think the Sift should be a place where people come to laugh at clips of domestic violence (or such realistically portrayed domestic violence if it turns out that video is fake). I understand why people think that particular clip is funny (her initial reaction to the punch is pretty comical) but when you realize what just caused that reaction, if you're a decent human being anyways, a little bile rises in your throat and you downvote.
