It's unfortunate that Dawkins' words are found to be so hurtful by some folks, but it seems like religions have the opportunity here to make themselves more perfect by adapting to the modern era.

Now that we're in the information age, you can't stop people from knowing and pointing out that holy texts are imperfect books.

That doesn't mean that the world is any less good, and you're free to do with that information what you will.

some random bits that i thought were interesting:

she listens to books because she is dyslexic and she has the bible and the OT on cds.

one good comment from an atheist was that the christians themselves are trying to get their views or whatever accepted as science, then they should tolerate it when real science comments back.

many people trying to point out to her that the god delusion is not a science book

the woman who made the video has two or three main answers to every critic:
- so you are an elitist atheist who follows the religion of evolution? how dare you think you are better than me!?
- only the chosen few gets the real meaning of my message, i am a chosen few.
- and the classic: where do you get your morales from?

she is planning (or has already) on making a series of videos where she debunks professor dawkins and evolution

she is well versed in, although predictably so, the "standard" christian rebuttals of science and.. you know.. reality.


what scares me most though, is how apparently willingly she dives into her ocean of ignorance. she must be using her legs to swim, because her hands are firmly over her ears.

I'm guessing for 1 of 3 reasons;

2. Her husband thinks CD players are the devil.
3. She missed her morning prayer, and bought this audiobook to make up for it. She is recording it to prove to God she really did listen to it (and she only bought it because she read "God" in the title).

Oh yes - actually sdhould have mentioned that - I was just making a funny - I understand he loves to start off his point with an (accurate) description of the god of the old testament - it upsets people, sometimes, but the truth is that is what the god was described as...

Then they tried to make him all fluffy and nice. You'll still burn in hell if you don't believe him. But he loves you. Really. He Does.

Wow, the level of religious intolerance by, those, I would suspect, are in the 'atheist's camp', is pretty high. By the video itself, if I did not hear it aimed at Christians, I do believe, ANYONE, would become offended by hearing their religious/views not just insulted, but chopped up, grilled, and then buried alived!

If I were deeply religious I wouldn't pick up a "book on tape" that is called "The God Delusion". I think you can tell by her response that she is not courageous or open minded. It's called an agenda and she obviously has one just like everyone else.
