Clips from "Brainwashing Camp" AKA "Jesus Camp"

Ahhh the young irrational people of tomorrow. If you haven't seen the A&E documentary "Jesus Camp" it's definitely worth a watch.
jiyanibisays...

Let me just make a little correction here...

Girl to Hot Blonde at bowling alley: "Jiyanibi was just telling me that you're on his mind and he just wants to take you and he just wants to love on you. And he has special plans for you..."

Other than that... *vomit

Believe believe believe! As long as you believe your safe! Go ahead and murder every chance you get, steal everything you can get your little hands on. Be rude, crude and generally inhospitable! As long as you remember to believe he exists and ask forgiveness at the last second, its all gravy baby.

All aside, this stuff makes me sick.

This is incredibly disturbing. People say "We just want a community" well, this is not a fucking community. These are evil people, indoctrinating children. This is abuse, terrible abuse.

ponceleonsays...

I gotta add: when she's talking smack about Harry Potter, there is some unenthusiastic clapping but a few of the kids they cut to seem a little conflicted by the direction she takes... Or at least their faces don't seem to be quite as nutty as is some of the other clips... I'm thinking at least one of them has to be thinking "bitch please..."

Didn't watch the movie. Here's hoping for a typical american ending, such as.. oh i dunno.. Hardened, drunk ex-cop has to fight inner demons in America's Heartland when he stumbles upon Little Jenny and the Jesus Camp. Old memories come to surface as he decides to go renegade and take down the brainwashers with guns and fire, thus freeing the captive kids.

What a feel-good movie that would be.

vairetubesays...

Exposing kids to subjects they have no emotional experience or point of reference to comphrehend (like homosexuality) is indoctrination and wrong... except when you to take them to a building every Sunday and tell them if they dont do what their told, they will burn in a lake of fire forever with Satan.

crystal clear. got it!

The horror here is that every single christian in this fucking clip is a liar. Some lie by pretending to believe at all. Others lie about the extent to which the believe/serve. Others lie by pretnding to be touched, or by pretending to speak in tongues. Everyone's lying to each other, and many are also lying to themselves. The thing about liars is no matter how good they are they often end up believing their own bullshit!

I say nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Xaielaosays...

This is sick. But so is the fact that these kids parents pay around $1500 per child for 5 days of brainwashing, sandwiches and soup, and cheap sleeping cots.

IE these people are getting filthy stinking rich of these so called camps.

And I feel terribly bad for these children who will grown up to be just as irrational and violent and racist as their parents are today. No amount of fact or rationalism will ever change them, unless they themselves decide to change. Sadly few ever will, as their entire lives are steeped in and surrounded by the irrational.

All I can say is how glad I am that I didn't grow up in the bible belt. I undoubtedly would never have survived there. I'm to much a free thinker. I cannot stand Christianity as it is lol.

The hair is standing up on the back of my neck - I feel sick to my stomach.

There is no way, these young minds can comprehend what is going on here. They were never given a chance of freedom of choice or a chance to make up their own minds. - This is no different than the brain washing within a cult!

I will comment on something I find just as disturbing & saddening as the content of the video... The wilful, blanket misconstruance of fact in portraying "all" Christians as extremists. I've been a Christian all my life, and I've never once seen anything like this stuff. Most churches have socials, youth activities, and events - but what you see in this video is neither common, nor wide-spread. This is a video that is salaciously using a sad, misguided, tiny fraction of the Christian world. Those of you jumping on the bandwagon and lambasting the entire population based on this content are guilty of the worst form of "me-too!" propogandism. Shame on you for being that gullible, and so easily manipulated. I see more 'extremists in the making' here on the Sift than I see in the real Christian world. I sincerely hope that such sentiment is more representative of the "Gabriel Greater Internet Theory" than your actual mental landscape.

^ Butthurt much?

I read every comment and don't see anyone jumping on any bandwagons lumping ALL Christians into this heap of mis-guided fools. I think I can speak for most of us here when I say that we are intelligent enough to realize this isn't what every Church Camp or Christian Church is all about. And to assume that we aren't smart enough to know the difference is downright insulting. Typical self-righteous Christian, judging others but don't want to be judged by others. Only "God".

How's that for lumping you into a category?

Oh and the fuckwad thing. Damn Christian of you sir. Keep it classy!

I would consider this a *conspiracy to brainwash kids.

Looks like I hit in the red, if not the gold. If you are not guilty of miscast arrows, then clearly my comments do not apply and you need not concern yourself with them. After all, you're 'smart enough to know the difference', right? Perhaps you see now that general, unqualified comments can be offensive when discussing groups. Specificity. It's your friend folks.

The lies and the fake tears.. God damn.

RELIGION: PLEASE GO AWAY AND STOP POLLUTING HUMANITY, SO WE CAN GO BACK TO LIVING USEFUL, PRODUCTIVE LIVES. Thank you.

This really is frighteningly disturbing.

The other thing is if the average American saw the same type of video about a Muslim religious camp, they'd think it was the most outrageous, religious fundamentalist act of terrorism "training future jihadists" or some other bullshit.

Really, this had more of a cult like vibe than any sort of "normal" religious movement.

But sadly, the description of the video is correct, it shows us the irrational people of tomorrow. Sure, not all of them will grow up and keep the same views (or in fact will decide that they were just swept up in the mob mentality - not to be discounted), but it always amazes me when I see stuff like this and think it's 2009!

C'mon now kiddies, just look at the thousand-plus viddes here posted by those who fancy themselves "enlightened"....Atheists are just as fucking obnoxious and foolhardy in their convictions as fundies-

Imagine a world where the entire population of North Korea could think for themselves and forgo the worship of Kim Dung Ill without being shot or imprisoned....get a clue, get a clue, get a life.

Oh yeah, there's tons of videos out there about atheist hate camps for children. </sarcasm>

I know. Isn't it retarded when people pretend a man is a god? Oh wait....

choggiesays...

^Jesus was god, dude....so are we all should we ever get about the work. Know all about the sacred art of conviction, and you may believe me(as evidenced by the fervor of so-proclaimed atheists here on this site) that atheists are but one taint's-distance away from fundies. I have seen some fuuuuuucked-up children of atheists as well....But no-you are right..no camps, but some pathetic excuses for universities.

Teeshulssays...

And for god's sake, don't make heroes out of warlocks people!.....oh what's that? Moses parted the Red Sea with his hands and staff?.....Jesus was at a drinking party and turned water into wine?.... And he raised some guy Lazarus from the dead?....And he actually walked on top of water?....well, those don't count as warlock deeds. They're in the bible.
