Wait, storm/clone troopers? Those are still in use? Ah fudge it. Don't bother explaining it to me. I'm not overly attached to the whole lore of the SW universe.

Looks cool. Not impressed that the Falcon would fly so low to the surface. X-Wing fighters, tho... that's another story.

lv_huntersays...

The briefest explanation, seeing stormtroopers doesn't mean they're clones. They're still the foremost troops for the empire. The lore is a lot differnet now since disney took the rights, all post ROTJ canon has changed now, or basically not canon anymore.

And for the Falcon, freighters have atmospheric maneuverability, though the Falcon is highly modified anyway.

I don't know, I'm still trying to figure out what possible use they could be in combat. So my initial response is WTF!?
Other than that the whole thing gave me a nerd boner, but then, so did the prequel trailers

I'm sorry, but that sith lightsaber was killer awesome!

Those laser guards don't make sense. They don't protect all the way to the blade. There is an exposed, vulnerable corner on each side of the blade. The design should have had the metal portion extending out then making a 135 degree (or more) angle back towards the main blade, so that the mini energy blade guards would provide full protection for the weilder's hand.

eric3579jokingly says...

You are talking about the "laser guards", on a "LIGHT SABER", not making sense. I suggest extending your imagination just a bit more I have no doubt we can all get there without to much trouble

I do however know what you are saying.

Why are the space ships flying around in the atmosphere like there isn't any atmosphere? I know they can fly etc., through the air, but they're designed to be super maneuverable in space. Don't get me wrong, it looks cool and all, but that's why they didn't fly X-Wings at the Imperial Walkers in Episode V...

Never been a huge fan of star wars to begin with, but after George Lucas anally raped the series with those bleedingly awful "prequels", I have hated star wars ever since. So, I remain skeptical about whether this one will be any better.

Duncansays...

I'm not sure what I think of them rebooting the canon yet. I was pretty stoked on them exploring the expanded universe.

Sadly Disney already stated that the extended universe is non canon and in one stroke disregarded all the books written. I've always wished for a Thrawn Trilogy movie series myself

Paybacksays...

I have money laid down with friends that there's an after credits scene with a blue-faced, white-uniformed man standing on the bridge of a super star destroyer, accompanied by one or two obviously predatory cat or dog-like creatures.

Enough over-analyzing! If you think it looks cool, watch it and enjoy it.

If you don't think it looks cool, I probably won't listen to you anyway!

I don't care about the politics of the studios. I don't care about the feasibility of certain weapons. I don't care about how or why certain vehicles are used in certain situations. I just think it looks cool and have faith that it will be told by a good story teller. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out. I, for one, think that it's gonna rock.

And it makes me happy!

poolcleanersays...

I'm mostly on the same page as you, however I am also obsessed with the politics and pseudo-science of the fictional universe.

Everything is doublethink. I could shit on a piece of toast one second and then eat it the next -- and believe it was nutella.

But that's just me.

And then George came out with his "Special Edition" version
-edit- went ahead and just sifted it.
