I'm a PC

Check out Microsoft's new "I'm a PC" advertisement, giving Mr. Seinfeld a bit of a rest while it faces Apple's campaign.

Just as I was about to upvote, that horrid Chopra showed up with a play on his terrible "line". Then, after some deliberation, I did upvote for the good execution of the video. I can forgive his appearance, but just this once.

Jeebus, I hate that man. Just about as much as I hate L. Ron. Hubbard.

OOOOooooohhhh, I am divided by this ad! It IS fun. I have a PC myself. But only because I bought the one that was most popular, not the one that was the best. So what is this ad really saying? I'm not proud of my PC ownership.

Wow, just when you thought Microsoft's commercials couldn't get any lamer. How did they get so many people to say, "I'm a PC" without them saying, "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

It's saying that you're a sheep. I built my PC some 6 years ago. Haven't replaced squat but the hard drives in it. Sure it can't run the best games but whatever. To tell you the truth, they both suck...just one sucks for less money.

I think the pure comedy from the "I SELL FEESH" man popping up right after him scores everything for thee win.

I'm a Vista user and I've had zero system crashes since SP1.

P.S. This commercial was made using the Mac version of PhotoShop. I remember reading some article about it, but Microsoft has removed that info from the page source on their site or something of that nature.

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: xxxnaughtytrannynurses.exe

FLACCID_FAULT_IN_NON_ERECT_AREA

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop Error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

I like this because I hate the Mac ads.

I have nothing... NOTHING against Macs, nothing at all. They are dead sexy pcs (yes, PC is a PERSONAL COMPUTER, so both Macs and computers running windows, and those running linux are ALL PCs), yes they have pretty environments etc.

BUT

The ads try to suggest that they NEVER crash, that they NEVER have issues, that they ALWAYS work.... Bull Shiiiiiiit.

I've always had to use Macs from time to time, it comes with the territory when you do web stuff, you have to test all popular platforms. And while I like a lot of stuff about them... um... I've crashed macs. I've had macs not do what I want when I want because a) I couldn't for the life of me work out how, or b) you needed to buy some third party app to make it possible.

Same things can be leveled at Windows machines, but they never claimed to be perfect ALL OF THE TIME. And blue screens of death? I, truly couldn't tell you the last time I had one of them... really, I can't, I don't remember, because they don't happen. (well, I'm sure they still do, but no moreso than the mac oh oh moments)

And somehow trying to suggest that Macs are all hip and edgy and FUN, and Windows is nothing more than business??? Um, care to compare games libraries?

So, big F*cking upvote for me, as I'm sick of Windows just lying there and taking it and letting Apple create this false impression of what Windows is.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

Agree that the Mac ads, although funny - come across as a bit unctuous. Really they should just show a screen cap of people getting shit done with an iPod like soundtrack. The UI of OSX sells itself.

I'm a PC, and I can run Mac OS X (Hackintosh, baby!) and many other good OSes. Sadly, I can also run pretty craptastic ones like Windows.

Remember... PCs are like air conditioning. They work well until you open Windows.
