sbchapmDang. I could not get the Vimeo link to post. Thanks for posting this. I cried this morning. This will be number one in a few days. Well spotted.
eric3579Fun pass is a smokin' deal! Caine's my hero.

sbchapmI just showed this to my 10th grade class. At the start I told them he'd raised $7300 for his scholarship fund, and by the time we'd finished the video, ten minutes later, it was up to $8300, so this is a great story in the making.

TheSluiceGateI used to make little "pinball" machines at his age, with box-tops, elastics, pencils and marbles. But this kid is an imagination god!
enochcynicism levels dropping.

longdeThis is freaking AWESOME. These are not tears.
Hive13Stories like this challenge my well constructed and (almost) impenetrable cynicism. It feels good.

When I was in fourth grade for a class project, I made a computer out of cardboard with scrollable screen with a wheel or something. It was based on my real Apple //c.

LannI did the same thing with a classmate around 2nd grade. We made "computer games" by drawing on cards and taping them to the "screen" and then trading them. Can't figure out why no one else wanted in on that action. What's so great about kick ball anyway?>> ^ant:

MonkeySpanksays...Funny,
I did the exact same thing, with wood planks, elastic bands and laundry pins.

ravermanThe dad is a role model for supportive parenting

damn im good
spoco2Awww, fuck man, how is life ever going to match up to that now? Caine's going to be having a life of drugs and booze in an attempt to match the magic of that experience.
Poor kid, they fucked him up!
SDGundamXWhy is this not #1 yet?!? Come on Sifters, get on it!

messengerI'm bawling. #1 please.
speechlesssays...Wow. Nearly 70K now. And someone donated a vintage arcade machine for his arcade too. Too awesome for words.
legacy0100Anyone else feel that this was soooooooo stereotypically Mexican?? I sense a strong DIY-build-EVERYTHING-out-of-ANYTHING-attitude-to-stretch-the-budget-mentality from his parent. I know that few of my Hispanic friends often like to make their own wallets out of folded duct tape and sewing their own clothes to make it look unique.
What I'm saying is that if this kid was born in the suburbs of Palo Alto going to an Apple Inc. funded school, he would've had better equipment and resources to play with and probably was in line to be the next Bill Gates.
SagemindSpeaking of fun passes...
This girl once...
Oh, nevermind....
SagemindUp to $82,710.00 now
deathcow95 k now
that kid is almost making CEO amounts of money per hour
brycewi19Just cracked $100K!!!
Jinxsays...I hope his dad gets some of that moolah, after all, it is on his real estate :3.
No but srsly, Dad did good. Can't imagine there are a lot of people that would let their kid build all over their shop front.

$130K. It will crack $200K easily as this filters through the interwebs. That should get him a masters.

God damn, I'm such a fucking cynic.
