the most balls-out looping german water slide i've ever seen

from Gizmodo: "This German water slide is the definition of terror. Rather than starting out sitting down and sliding into the steep part, you start standing up on a trap door that they pull out from underneath you. It drops you straight down, you know, so you can gather enough speed for the complete loop that it throws you through. I don't understand German, so I'm not sure exactly what they're saying in this, but I assume it has something to do with the dangerous amount of chlorine in the water to help balance out the pee that every single rider leaves behind."

Oh this video has so many things going for it:
* Insane waterslide I'd LOVE to go on
* Cute female in bikini
* The german language... which to my ear that understands nothing other than the counting heard 'testies' and 'shaft' at points during that... but I think that speaks more to my mindset than what was actually being said

They've got this one at the "Wet 'n Wild" in Vegas, only without the loop. It's called "Der Bombay". The only thing it's got going over this one is that the guys that run the one in vegas lie to you in terms of the count prior to dropping you thru the hatch. They completely ignored the pleas of my wife to give a countdown and the guy pretended like he couldn't hear her right before pressing the button.

It was great.

lol, no. They dont talk about chlorine at all. They are testing it for the first time. The narrator talks about how much it costs (500.000 Euro) and if the TÜV accepts the construction. The men and the girl just talk about how awesome it is. The girl seems to be a little bit hysterical, though.

What happens if you don't make the loop and slide back to the first low point? Wouldn't the blockage cause water to pool? Do they have an emergency exit?

They use a really big plunger.

LMAO! Yeah, first thing that came to my mind was "OMFG, a giant toilet, complete with vapour trap!"

That final frame of the video is kinda disturbing in a distorted, fisheye'd "Boob Cam" way.

This is Germany.
Can you even imagine the amount of safety calculation that went into this? You'll be fine.

However, I used to work in a waterpark in England, and they saved money when building it by reducing the size of EVERYTHING, including the water slides, resulting in an escape velocity high enough to shatter the glass of the barrier at the end of the tunnel with your bare legs, and by the way we just tested the water and it says "burns your eyes out" but we aren't going to empty the pool because that would cost money.

I heard shaft twice, but I missed the testes. Sounded like "der shaft"... is that the name of the slide?

He sais "Der Looping ist geschafft" which translates into "He made the looping"
I guess they were worried before wether they would actually make it all the way around...

Also this is not in Germany, but Slovenia. Just the people testing it are german. Here is the link to the waterpark: http://www.terme3000.si/home.php?ln=eng
