These still impress me. Hats off to him for getting sponsored (my understanding is he paid for at least the first trip out-of-pocket). Also kudos for getting off the beaten path, even in some pretty dangerous places!

It's just not possible to upvote this enough...

Yes he did get sponsored after the first trip, but the sponsor didn't ask him to do any product placement or anything, apparantly all they said was:

"We like what you're doing. We want to help you. We don't want to mess with you."

AFAIK, Stride Gum uses his videos on commercials and advertising, but I've never seen him doing product placement on his videos. So he's basically paid to travel all over the world and dance, later his video gets shows around to millions of people. It's still one of the best jobs ever.

That was far more captivating than I thought. It begs for Hi-Def, however; YouTube doesn't afford a view of anyone's face in any detail _at all_. I really like how the only time he breaks stride from his Roger Rabbit is for the Bolly Girls. I mean, wouldn't you too?

It's strange, I just lost a friend to an accident at work, and was not really feeling to great trying to sort it all out, but somehow, not really sure how having watched it again, this made me feel a little bit better.

I cant help but hate this guy for doing something that I couldnt of pulled off in my wildest dreams, but the beauty of it overcomes any ill will i may have

That awesome building he's dancing in front of in Seoul, South Korea (2:49), is Namdaemun, Korea's number one cultural treasure. Sadly, it isn't there anymore. It mostly burned down this past February after an arson attack.

Just brilliant. Every time there's another one of these I think 'nah, it won't get me this time'... then... *argh, no... I'm not going to....*

Almost teared up again... dangit.

It was brilliant when it was just him but it's even more powerful with the other people involved too, hurray for showing the happy side of life. (although there are a few poignant bits in there too (the demilitarized zone for example)

I'd like to see him do that in Baghdad.

I just can't upvote someone who dances across the world. It's not humanitarian or tear-inducing; it's a guy dancing. Big deal. Add some heart-moving music and everyone acts like this guy is saving the world.

Despite being the proprietor of the Dark Channel, I'm generally a sucker for emotional vids, but I've gotta say that an independently wealthy dude filming himself goofy-dancing in famous locals doesn't really do anything for me.

I did like the first one though...

I guess am the official Scrooge of this thread, so uh.... Bah Humbug... an all that. Sorry.

After almost dying and spending nearly a year in and out of the hospital, this video makes me feel like everything is still going to be okay. *tear*

I absolutely love these videos. This may be his last, but even if it is, even living the dream for 3 videos would be enough fond memories to last a life time.

Reading his website, I stumbled upon a quote that made me laugh

"Matt has a little piece of extra cartilage sticking out on the rim of one ear and a little hole in the same place on the other ear. Since saying so on this page, he's been informed that the extra piece of cartilage is called a 'Darwinian Tubercle'. Matt thinks this is pretty much the greatest name for anything ever."

I think you're being too hard on the guy, Farhad. For one, after reading that particular blog entry on Kuwait (the place where you currently live, I will add for those that don't know), I thought it was a summary of superficial impressions of a brief trip to a small country. And the better part of that blog entry was recounting the impressions other people from Kuwait had conveyed to him. Anyway, my point is - of course, his impressions won't be as accurate as yours, considering he's a tourist and is in a kind of a drive-through. However, I suppose when one compares the rather secular side of Kuwait with, say, a random South-Eastern Asian country, one cannot really be blamed for saying the former somewhat lacks in culture, can they?

He was in Kuwait as well, however before we all hand hands and sing Kumbayi with Matt, hes pretty culturally insensitive if you read his blog.

Can you cite any examples for we, the lazy?

Read his other stuff on the Middle East. Also I think it's funny when a tourist goes to another country and goes to eat Applebees.

Just for a moment, all the planets align with the Earth. There is no longer war. Hunger is a thing of the past. Life once again flourishes and we all live happily ever after. That's what this video feels like to me =)

The song is very inspiring.

Just bought it on iTunes =)

Find out the origins of Matt Harding’s fancy dance that has become a global InterWeb craze. Man, this guy has been fancy dancing all around the world for 5 years now, spreading happiness!

Also, SF Iam has a lot of other great videos you should check out.
