Well, no Tobey Maguire, that's a big plus.

No, silly. This is Spider-Man, it's Doc Croc, duh! *nods*
FlowersInHisHairsays...The guy's too handsome. Parker's a geek, right? And the origin story? AGAIN? I couldn't be less excited about this film.

That's almost of right actually. The Lizard is a doctor, and another mentor of Peter Parker before he goes all freaky and evil. If you saw spider-man 2 or 3 he was the college professor. It's a shame, they had an actor who seemed perfect for the role in the last series, and he never got to do anything.
deathcowsays...This should go quite a ways towards repairing the Tobey McGuire issue.
deathcowsays...lol @ the thumbnail looks like the SNL guy who you know is going to play him

I don't understand why this franchise is being rebooted so soon.
Ferazelsays...Yay for technological web shooters! It gives spiderman a much needed weakness that can situationally be raised.
bcglorfsays...I feel like I was already disappointed by this movie very recently. Maybe I'm just thinking of one with a similar theme...

Reefiesays...Really? Oh dear... The first two Spiderman films were pretty damned decent, it was only the third one with that black goo stuff that spoiled the trilogy. Toby Maguire was perfectly cast for the role, he was almost exactly what I anticipated from the comics.
Next up: Lord of the Rings - Back to Middle Earth.
quantumushroomsays...When de-masked, why doesn't Spidey make a temporary new mask out of web fluid?
Stusays...Tobey McSuck was awful for this. If you look in the comics, he has no resemblance to spiderman at all.>> ^Reefie:

Fletchsays...So tired of all the remakes, reboots, and re-imaginings. They redid Willy Wonka, FFS. Willy f'in Wonka! One of the greatest movies ever made! That's just wrong! What's next? "Citizen Kanye"? "Da GodFatha"? "Arbor Day", about a guy who wakes up over and over on the same insignificant holiday in perpetuity?
Hollywood, you wanna remake something that needs remaking? How about the last three Star Wars movies? Or anything with Ben Affleck in it? Take your pick of Stephen King movies. Godzilla without Ferris Bueller. King Kong without Jack Black. Gullivers Travels without Jack Black. Year One without... ok, anything with Jack Black without Jack Black.
Anyhoo...
Upvote for Emma Stone.
oOPonyOosays...That is some super bad hair on Spidey. The thumbnail makes me laugh out loud. Almost won't see this I hate Dennis Leary so much (comedic hack).
I was seriously hoping for Mysterio. With a 3D movie they are missing out on some serious cool holograms (or is it holographs?) Fighting the Lizard, besides the walking upright and having thumbs, is kind of like super gator-wrestling. Can he speak with no lips. =)
'splosions look cool though. Couldn't tell if Dr. Connors was missing a limb like in Spidey 2.
MadSentinelsays...Regardless of whether the actual film sucks or not, this trailer has unforgivably bad music mixing going on. Zero punch whatsoever. The E.S. Posthumus mix from the original Sam Raimi film's first big trailer makes this sound like a kindergarten kazoopalooza.
Actually, the kindergarten kazoopalooza would have sounded better. It would at least have scored points for bravery.
And exactly who is supposed to fill the enormous galoshes left by J K Simmons as J Jonah Jameson? Probably a very hard-working, well-intentioned actor with no shortage of talent, but I feel for him, whoever he may be, without even having seen his face or heard his voice. Clearly the studio saw fit not to include him in this trailer.
I want to believe this won't be a bad film. It will be a very long time before a real-life President lives up to the fictional model created by Martin Sheen. I have zero beef with Denis Leary as Captain Stacey, nor with Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, even as badly as I wanted to see Dylan Baker do it under Raimi's skilled hand. I want to give people a fair shot at doing good work. But the leadup to this film ain't making it easy.
[EDIT] -- Just to prove the point, it's a poor quality link, but THIS is how you mix a trailer:

I miss Sam Raimi mixing with Marvel, but I have reasonably high hopes for Joss Whedon.
kymbossays...Spider Man's not my bag, but having read the comics I found Venom to be the only baddie worth watching.
I'm not into it.

That "black goo stuff" gave us Carnage. Don't diss on the BGS just because you only got to meet Venom.
Just sayin'.

Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah! Hold on a second there! J K Simmons is not in this movie?
Screw that, I'm out.
I'll be over watching Christian Bale try to find his asthma inhaler...
oOPonyOosays...Looks like no JJJ at all in the IMDB credits.
xxovercastxxsays...Bad, bad, bad.
I know Spider-man 3 was a big letdown (at best) but we really didn't need to start over from scratch. They could have just made Spider-man 4 and taken it in a new direction, even with new cast if they felt that was necessary (I don't) without telling the whole origin story over again. And Denis fucking Leary? He should stick to cameos and voicing cartoon characters.
I'm glad I was never really into Spider-man.

Probably doesn't wash out of his hair very easily. Stings the eyes?
