Police Brutality: Marine Murdered by SWAT!

"Please send me an ambulance and you can ask more questions later, please!" Guerena tells the dispatcher that her husband had returned home about 6:30 a.m. after work and was sleeping. Prompted by the dispatcher, Guerena says her husband was shot in the stomach and hands. The dispatcher asks Guerena to put her cheek next to her husband's nose and mouth to see if he's breathing, but she replies in Spanish that her husband is face- down. The operator tells Guerena to grab a cloth and apply pressure to his wounds, but the wife responds frantically: "I can't! I can't! There's a bunch of people outside of my house. I don't know what the heck is happening!" A dispatcher asks if the people outside are the SWAT members. "I think it's the SWAT, but they ... Oh my God!" Guerena says. A dispatcher asks that she open the door for the SWAT, but Guerena replies that the door was already opened by police. "Is anybody coming? Is anybody coming?" she asks. The operator tells Guerena help is on the way, but they're still trying to figure out what happened. "I don't know, that's it, whatever I told you, that's it," Guerena says. Just after the five-minute mark, Guerena's end of the line goes silent. The two dispatchers spend about four minutes talking to each other and calling out for Guerena while trying to figure out if the call is coming from the same residence where the warrant was served. At the end of the 10-minute 911 call, a dispatcher says she has confirmation that Guerena is outside with deputies on the scene. Continued...

71 rounds??? WTF?? That's more than 2 full clips from assault rifles. Were they firing in automatic? With glue on the trigger?

ya the mere fact that 71 fucking rounds were fired to "subdue" this man is evidence enough that that swat team was there with ill intent.....fucking ridiculous

definitely wanna hear more about this

Normally in the past I have been one of the few to post on these police vids presenting a reasonable supposition as to why the event occurred. I am at a loss. For both the massive overreaction and for the prevention of care for over an hour on this man. As far as I'm concerned that was nothing less than an act of premeditated murder on every cops part. No surprise what that kid is going to grow up like now, with this kind of impression about the law. The fact that the written word can not properly express my rage is just to frustrating right now.

Oh Dr. Comedy here says it's not funny so I guess it isn't. I'd be lying if I said I didn't pause before hitting "submit new comment". But guess what? I did it anyway.

And guess what else...you all did have the "trolling needs to be toned down" discussion yesterday, buuuuuuuuuuuut I guess it didn't work. In fact it was counterproductive. Go figure.

The time and the place is when I deem it necessary. An attempt at censorship is the only crime here.>> ^GenjiKilpatrick:

Not funny and now arrogant. Keep digging. Gotta go with Genji on this one; your input definitely had the 4chan flair. You're free to say whatever you want, but people are equally free to judge you on that. You want to be seen as a person of substance, then lets have it. Until then, you're a fart in the elevator; repulsive and left behind.>> ^rottenseed:

I thought it was funny. I didn't find it mocking or trollish whatsoever. If you can't some kind of humor even in the darkest of situations then I truly feel sorry for you. But that's me...

Opus_Moderandisays...

@GenjiKilpatrick - Calm down. It was a joke. You either think it's funny or you don't. Your outrage is entirely misdirected. You have been distracted by a tasteless joke. And now you want to kill my family? Sheesh.

Let me try to put it another way, if it's possible to find humor in the darkest of situations, I say go for it. I might not do so myself (and I'm pretty sure you don't) but, there are plenty of comedy routines about the holocaust and slavery and many other horrible points in humanity. It's called Dark Humor.

I cringed when I read rottenseeds comment but, I found humor in the notion that he (or she) was ready to date this so recently widowed woman (And don't kid yourself that there aren't actually people like that out there). Dark humor gives you the power to laugh in the face of the thing people fear the most (Look at me, waxing philosophical).

As you have so vehemently proven, it's not for everybody.
But I love you anyway.

redyellowbluesays...

There's a difference from cracking a joke, and being the SWAT team ordered to this mans house and actually killing the guy and messing up the girls life. One is benign and will wear off, the other was physical, violent and audacious.

MaxWildersays...

I found the joke to be perfectly timed dark humor, which I usually don't like. But in this case, amidst the horror of the news story and my hatred for the people who perpetuate the cycle of violence, I also thought the grieving widow was unexpectedly attractive. If the joke had been about something else, perhaps implying that the victim got what he deserved or something else belittling the seriousness of the incident itself, I might agree about the trolling. But the joke was tangential, and spot on. Put me in the category for "Humor makes the bad times more bearable".

murder
And where are the people coming to the defense of the SWAT officers in this situation (as seen here: link) which is arguably similar???

The big difference between the two is that the other video showed what happened and this one is just a collection of reports about what happened, but I'll take a stab at it.

-I completely disagree with invading the home to begin with, and especially with sending SWAT (who made that decision?). This situation shouldn't have occurred at all.
-If the guy was pointing a gun at the cops then it isn't surprising he was shot.
-71 bullets seems excessive, but all I can do is make assumptions about the situation.

Here's a hypothetical: SWAT members are told that there may be armed drug dealers in the house. When they go in someone sees a guy with a gun, someone fires, then everyone opens fire because they don't want to die. Paramedics arrive but aren't allowed to go in because there may still be armed people in there ready to kill anyone who walks through the door.

The problem is there's no video of the event. Maybe the cops hated this guy and went there specifically to assassinate him. I can't condemn of condone their reaction to the events because I don't know what happened, when it happened, and in what context.

I can, however, tell you that they shouldn't have been there in the first place, though that's just my opinion.

Alright, tell that joke to the victim & her family and see how funny they think it is.
Better yet, give me the address of the person you love the most.
We could conduct an experiment to test your true level of humor.

Oh my God dude, calm down.

Mazexsays...

I don't think there's enough information yet on this story to make a conclusion about it, I mean everyone instantly makes an opinion based on how the news report the situation and what facts they report. I mean the guy could actually secretly be helping drug dealers, he could of been doing a load of fucked up shit secretly, but just cus he's a marine he's labelled an automatic good guy. Personally I don't think anyone in the armed forces is a good guy, I think they all just want to get paid for murdering people without going to jail, same goes for SWAT.

Also the thing about him thinking it was home invaders. Don't most well equipped home invaders target high priced homes, that neighbourhood didn't look particularly high class at all. It should be obvious that it was a police raid, so it's his own fault at pointing an assualt rifle at the police.

Psychologicsays...

^ I can almost guarantee you that at least one of the SWAT members is current/former military.

As far as everyone in the armed forces just wanting to kill people legally, not everyone has a position that involves combat (administration, musician, etc). There are a lot of wonderful people in the military, and a lot of not-so-wonderful people as well... the fact that they all wear a uniform doesn't say much about their character.

Sketchsays...

And now we have an argument that is off topic and inappropriate, simply because someone had to bitch about a lame joke in the first place. This is the damned Internet. If you are going to complain that someone is an ass, then make sure it was really worth subverting and dominating what could have been a real conversation about this incident and the pointless drug war.

smoomansays...

*fucking sigh* tell you what, genjikilpatrick, i think we should leave an inappropriate response and/or joke on every goddamn vid that gets posted so you can then protest said comment/joke and we can have the same tired, futile "debate" over and over and over again, perpetuating the 4chanitude/youtubeocity you insist is taking over. for fuck sake grow a pair (oh im sorry, is that misogynistic?) and move the fuck on

seriously, look at what you are really starting, and ask yourself who's trolling who?
