BoneRemakesays...I dont know what goes on psychologically but whenever I see this sort of thing or am in that position ie being under a rock overlap or whatnot, I always think its going to cave in or shift.
I watched this just waiting for it.
ponceleonsays...A) this is one of the most horror inducing things I can think of
B) that's what she said
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'Tight, Fit, Squeeze, Florida, Caving, Crawl, Claustrophobia' to 'Tight, Fit, Squeeze, Florida, Caving, Crawl, Claustrophobia, fitton cave' - edited by kronosposeidon
kronosposeidonsays...All my life I've never experienced claustrophobia, not even once. Being in an MRI machine, or being squeezed on all sides by screaming fans in festival seating at concerts - they never bothered me. But watching this gave my stomach knots. It made me think of how I would feel in that situation, and I'm guessing I would panic immediately if I thought I was getting stuck. Was there anyone behind him who could have pulled him backwards in case he couldn't do it himself, and forward progress became impossible? Or if his buddy ahead of him couldn't push or pull him either?
This is the stuff of nightmares. *Promote the *quality nightmare.
EDIT: I can't even look at the thumbnail now without feeling queasy. *losethumb

Trancecoachsays...that's what whiskers are for.
Ryjkyjsays...Oh, c'mon, it's easy guys.
If you get stuck, all you have to do is exhale all the air in your lungs to reduce the diameter of your chest, and then hope the spot you slide into is big enough to inhale a little bit. WHAT'S SO SCARY ABOUT THAT?
blankfistsays...Pardon my language but FUCK THAT!
moodoniasays...Yes this give me the heebie jeebies too. I can imagine easily slipping into sheer panic somewhere like that.
I crawled through a sand tunnel when I was a kid (i.e. a moron), kind of got that sense midway "this thing could come down, this is really stupid". Started crawling a lot faster.
This stuff is scary enough dry, but they flood so often. Last few years I've heard a bunch of stories in Ireland of people getting caught in these places as they fill up with water....
GeeSussFreeKsays...Huh, do this all the time. Never even thought to be bothered by it, it is kind of fun to see yall react so extremely to it! Now, you could send the smallest spider in the universe my way and I would be up the walls...
sme4rsays...I NEVER cave
kurtdhsays...I started hyper-ventilating just watching this.
westysays...not for me
might get used to it if i did it allot.
gwiz665says...Reminds me of http://oglaf.com/sheela/

So when you're in a tight spot like that in a cave, with your face an inch from the ground, where you can barely move, are you saying you've never encountered a spider before?
Are you SUUUURRE???
bovansays...In the army we crawled through a 20m pipe, which one barely could move through.. and in the dark as there was a guy infront of me blocking the sunlight as well as kicking my helmet.
It still creeps me out to think of it, and I don't wanna go anywhere near these caves. Only reason I managed to get through the pipe was to put my mind in a meditative state
Deanosays...Yikes, scary stuff. I was in a cave once, and was so uncertain/pissed off that the guide just told me to wait in the dark until he came back with the others. It was a long, utterly silent wait.
NinjaInHeatsays...reminds me of that old south park episode where the hamster goes on a quest in Mr. Slave's anus
GeeSussFreeKsays...Well actually. At enchanted rock (2 huge lava domes here in texas), there was one little cave that had THOUSANDS OF DADDY LONG LEGS! Now, as a kid I messed around with some daddy long legs before, but when the entire cave ahead of you pulses with the force of daddy long legs it doesn't matter how harmless they are! I think the reasons tight spaces don't bother me is I have always been a small dude, so getting in and out of small places was always something I rather enjoyed. That, and I am not smart enough to realize I could die in a cave flood. So I'm not brave, but lack foresight!

kronosposeidonsays...Here's some more nightmare fuel for you (it might even be the same cave, but I'm not sure):
And check it out at the end - fucking water. And it's in Florida. For those of you who don't know, most of Florida gets rain every day, usually between 3 pm and 5 pm, during the spring and summer months. A lot of times they are torrential downpours, with streets easily getting flooded.
These guys look like they know what they're doing, but still...SHIT.

Retroboysays...I really really really have to lose weight.
notarobotsays...This is not a sport for fat people.
cowboydansays...I really don't consider myself claustrophobic but I'm going to echo blankfist's french:
fuck. that.
rychansays...Surprisingly, I didn't find that nearly as scary as I thought that I would. And I'm a fairly claustrophobic person. The caver had a fairly calm demeanor about him though that made the experience seem bearable. And there was clearly some open space nearby (for the camera man to sit in). It's not as bad as the crawl through the tube in Aliens.
Ryjkyjsays...>> ^Retroboy:

I guess speleologists have a name for these really, really tight passageways. They call them: "fat guy filters."
Opus_Moderandisays...There's a scene in the movie "The Descent" that deals with this exact situation. Except the rocks are caving in on them. Talk about edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting tension...
residuesays...You know you're in for a good time when you have to take your helmet off to fit through A buddy of mine fit through the 6 inch squeezebox at OTR and got a special certificate. The hardest part was shoving his head through. If you want something really scary, find some chimneying videos where you cross a chasm by pushing against opposite walls and you can't even see the ground.
Also, while there is a lot of light in this video, keep in mind that usually you would be doing this in complete absence of light.

About 15 years ago when i was fresh out of high school and didnt consider consequences, like death and such, I went with some friends to a cave just outside of Ocala, Florida. After being in there for hours (we started in around midnight, and came out around 5am), we decided to take the 'short cut' out. The short cut involved going through a hole just like this one.
A hole where I actually had to dig some sand away just to fit through it. When I inhaled too much, I was totally pinned in. I had to stay calm, and take half breaths or I was stuck. It was THE scariest position Ive ever been in. Needless to say, I will never go caving again without an expert. And even then I will think real hard about it.
messengersays...Do NOT eat a happy meal while you're in there.
Paybacksays...Everyone does this on day one of their lives. It's just some of us want to stay outside afterwards.
kronosposeidonsays...Why not? That would probably be the best part of the experience.>> ^messenger:
