I'd like to know where the mics are. You can still hear the guy singing perfectly clearly from the other side of his car. Is he wearing a mic? Is there a boom-mic? Is the whole thing staged? Still pretty enjoyable though.

It seems unlikely that the people who walk up are mic'd too.
I think there is a mic in the pump-top box that holds the monitor. You can see a camera there (lower left side).. and another object (possibly another camera) on the right side. You are right about the sound though.. it's great, and somehow they have mixed in the hosts audio while cutting the sound of his voice from the pump speaker.

There are a lot of things that irritate me about America and americans (and I'm sure it works the other way too!) but this is one of the things I love about you lot. Everyone is so much more outgoing than in the UK, this would never work here.

I'd buy these two a beer for sure

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

I was thinking the same thing when watching this. Make these guys the US cultural ambassadors at large - just fantastic.

Say it ain't so! The uplifting Californian couple that performed what was thought to be a spontaneous karaoke duet as part of Jay Leno's Tonight Show "Pumpcast News" segment may have actually been hired actors, according to The Smoking Gun. According to the hoax killers, Will Sims and his wife Monifa have been pursuing careers in show business for sometime with Mrs. Sims having appeared on the same "Pumpcast News" segment before more than two years ago. Monifa has since responded to the allegations, claiming it was just a coincidence that she ended up on the show for a second time.

It did feel pretty staged, but I am going to stick my fingers in my ears and continue pretending that everything is on the up-and-up.
