Did You Know That Every Day, People Die?

They want to teach you to "bypass your intellect!"

hell, i can't even come up with a word that doesn't directly conflict everything they're trying to say and equal in any way a repectable human being

In addition to being complete morons these fools are also bad christians. The "are you a good person test" asks if you are a good enough person to get into heaven. But if they actually read a bible once in a while they might come across this. Whoever that criminal on the cross was probably didn't follow very many of the ten commandments yet he was allowed to enter paradise. All he had to do was ask. Another verse they might find handy is this one.

They are so narrow minded they can't possibly be dissuaded from their false beliefs. Don't they know that the truth will set them free? (see what I did there?)

Also, using their scriptures against them is awesome. Read your own references, idiots. Man, these guys are annoying. This is one of those vids that you upvote because you hate it.

Draxsays...

Fusionaut, they actually address your arguments in one of their videos. They claim to take the ten commandments literally, and say all the new texts that offer easy repentance are bogus. That you're only repenting to a fellow man, not the Big-G himself.

Kirk continues to be a growing pain.

Hoo boy. I took that "Am I a good person" test, and much like laura, as soon as I got to the "Have you taken the lords name in vain" part, I actually started laughing.

So, I complete the stupid test, knowing full well hilarity would probably ensue because I truly am a bastard.. and then get lectured for honestly answering. I mean, who are they to judge? pfft.

also, on the question of have you taken the lords name in vain.. it says "You've taken the name, yadda yadda blah blah.. And turned it into a filthy Four letter word...

If you looked up the "Way of the Master" you would see that they use the Ten Commandments to show that NO one is perfect and can uphold God's standard, and that "asking" or believing in God is the only way to Heaven.

All kidding aside,

I was thinking about these comments and stuff and wondering what makes my skin crawl on the most fundamental level about Kirk and others like him...

... It's the invasion of the body-snatchersesque way they tell you that giving in to "their way of thinking" won't hurt. It's the evil which believes in all honesty that it is doing good. It's the fact that they are being 100% sincere... absolutely and utterly frightening.

You are so right, he is a pain that is grow... HEY WAIT I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE!!!

These guys have their heads so far up each others asses it makes me queasy. Why can't only people like Ray and Kirk die every day? I know that sounds messed up, but they'll go to heaven and get blown by angels for infinity so who cares.

Let's spend all our time on earth trying to make sure the time after is perfect. What a selfish outlook.

I really wish I knew what causes people to think this way. Is it really skewed logic + vivid imagination = fundamentalism, or is it something deeper?

I had always thought of myself as a good person, untill I took the "Are you a good person" test.

There's a few things I found funny about that test...

The first commandment is "You shall have no other gods before me." To me this means either A) We can't hold any other gods higher than God; or B) We can't believe in any other gods besides God; depending on which way you define "before" (prior-to in a sequence; or in front of or in the presence of). As one who doesn't believe in any gods, I have never put another god before God nor believed in any other gods in his presence. That Kirk says this commandment means I can't prioritize anything higher God tells me that he's putting his own spin on things.

Commandment 2: "You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." The applicable definition of an idol in this context is "an image of a deity other than God, or that deity itself". Considering having the wrong impression about God's nature as idolatry is kind of a stretch. Worshiping the Golden Calf is idolatry.

Commandment 7: "You shall not commit adultery." They then go on to imply that adultery includes lusting after any woman, marital status of her or you irrelevant. According to Kirk's interpretation, this would even include lusting after your own spouse. If only we were so lucky.

1st commandment.... anything that takes the place of God is an idol. Friends, family, job, hobbies. Of course, this doesn't mean these things should be completely avoided. Not taking care of our family is sinful. It's a matter of priorities.

2nd commandment.... this is the physical interpretation of the first commandment.

7th commandment.... any relationship outside the bounds of marriage is sinful. Between the husband and a wife the "bed is undefiled". Also, Jesus said that lusting after another person is equivalent to adultery. It's the same with murder. Jesus said that hating a person in your heart is equivalent to murdering that person in your heart.

The purpose of the old testament law is to show that we cannot uphold the law of God, or God's standard of living. It is impossible. The new testament calls the law a "school master". The purpose is to show man's inability to live on his own righteousness. The old testament is filled with examples of how Israel (God's chosen people) were unable to live according to the law. The law thus points to the need of a Christ as the fulfillment of the law. In him we are justified.

Throughout the Bible a person's faith in God is counted as righteousness. This faith then results in good works. The Bible is clear that good works is not how we please God, but through faith. Then after faith, good works are a result of our obedience towards God. Old testament people are in Heaven today because of their faith. Their works are a result of their faith. The patriarchs of Genesis who are listed in the hall-of-faith in the book of Hebrews were far from perfect sinless people. But their continual faith in God is what differentiated them from the rest of the people of the world. Christians view this as "looking forward to Christ". After the new testament we now look "back at Christ". Regardless of how you look at it the Bible is clear, man's nature is sinful. Faith in God is the only way to please Him.

It's wads like these 2 who are twisting the original message.

I'm sorry, but even the original message was one of ignorance. We can forgive them, however, as it was a time of ignorance and fear. Today, we have FACTS, KNOWLEDGE, and INTELLIGENCE to help us avoid becoming mindless, idiot automatons.

Things we didn't understand way back then were best described using theories and storytelling; just as the ancient Greeks, Mayans, and countless other civilizations did throughout history. It was all they had of explaining the way the world around them worked, as they hadn't yet developed the knowledge and tools to come to FACTUAL, OBSERVABLE conclusions. If you believe these two morons, then you may as well believe the Earth is flat, Zeus has orgies in the clouds, and that you can see Russia from Alaska.

Or, you can join the rest of humanity and accept something much more plausible and intelligent. People like this will one day be extinct. Humanity is growing smarter, and outgrowing mythical bedtime stories told to keep children in line through fear, and from questioning ignorance. More proof of evolution.

I don't know about this Cameron fellow, but I don't keep my conscience in my chest... I think it is probably an emergent behaviour that results from the naturally evolved functioning of my frontal lobes.
