bad form though it may be, and i do agree with that, there's a part of me that wants that man to be made aware at every possible opportunity that he was one of the worst presidents this country has ever seen.

Not that Bush doesn't deserve it, but as the commentators say, it's very bad form.

The last thing we owe that man is respect.

He should be behind bars.

What's the old saying? "Consider the source".

Those boo-bums think Obama is Sinter Klaus, here to fill their gas tanks and pay their rent for free.

They're ignorant of history so the next four years will all seem new to them.

I agree that that man himself is owed no respect. It's the office that he still technically filled at that point in time that is owed at least some small modicum of respect. If he ever makes a speaking tour in my region, I fully intend to go just so I can boo at him, but booing the outgoing president at a new president's inauguration just feels like it violates the decorum of the event itself.

Respect?

If Obama spends the next eight years destroying this country, I'll boo him, too. If Obama spends the next eight years torturing and killing innocent people, I'll call for his war crimes trial, as well.

If you truly respect the office of the Presidency, you'd scream, "Off with his head!" when Bush enters the room.

To think that he is, most probably, going to retire now to a ranch, write some books, make a few appearances, and live a cushy life till the end of his days.

No impeachment, no criminal charges, nothing.

You know.

Because we have to look forward and not back as Obama said.

joedirt says...

WTF? Ranch?? Are you people mad? Bush was never a cowboy. He is a New England WASP. The ranch was all for show. He is moving into exclusive (recently) all white neighborhood. One of the last gated subburbs or whatever it is.

Its all a farce.
Think of all that money they spent on this whole show.

Yep, it's like the price of two days in Iraq, or a handful of smartbombs. Which do you think is more beneficial to 2 million Americans plus the hundreds of millions that watched it online/TV

Farhad2000 says...

What you talkin' about Joe dontcha ya know that wearing a cowboy hat and boots and livin' in Texas is about all the qualification one needs? Haha.

The myth of Bush being the Washington outsider was cultivated so well. I mean how is that possible with his father having been a President.

A single day in Iraq was priced at 720 million back in 07, am sure its fallen since then but is still way higher then the 100 to 150 million spent on the Inauguration.

not very democratic this kind of behaviour. to judge his actions and sentence the man to the short end of his days would be much more accurate.

Desviada says...

I'm sorry, I don't see how booing is bad form. Respect is something that should be earned, not given away. I don't care what the etiquette books say -- there is no reason for niceties when someone has used every bit of their power to destroy the lives of others. Bush has no respect for the common man, I see no reason why we should respect him.

And these ideas of automatically respecting someone of high office are carried over from times when royalty were thought of as more important than everymen. I think that sentiment is highly outdated.

pipp3355 says...

i think he should be tried for war crimes and genocide under the same standards of fairness that sadam was tried under.

booing him / not booing him... meh.

Payback says...

I agree, they shouldn't have booed.

They should have said nothing. Complete silence. Could you imagine what it would feel like to have over a million people standing, silently glaring at you with distaste and distrust? It freaks me out when 10 people do it...

...also, I bet the Obama has ear plugs in, 1 million+ people screaming at the top of their lungs could do some serious damage.

liberals are always ready to cheap-shot someone they don't agree with

A cheap shot would be sapping him, putting a bag over his head, dragging him off to Guantanamo and waterboarding him.

Actually, belay that, that would have been justice.

Gee, that's a lot of aggro directed toward one target. Get outta there before you wipe us all!

"Bush begins casting Seduce but the targets are immune. Bush begins casting Fade(with 3 talent points into Obscurity). Bush begins casting Hearthstone. Bush has left the raid."
