Enable iFrame embeds?
So... seeing as vimeo's default is now an iFrame, and I noticed a YouTube embed I just did also defaulted to an iFrame, shouldn't videosift start supporting these before it stops being an option to not use iframes?

I see one major negative and one major positive.
An iFrame is like a little browser windows nested in your HTML. A publisher could replace it with *anything* as it's controlled from their end. With an embed, they are at least restricted to a certain type of media.
The major positive is that it allows the serving of HTML5 video to devices that don't have Flash capabilities or have Flash installed.
I think though, that the time might be here for accepting iframes, at least from a limited number of apprvoded hosts.
WTF WTF WTF
every youtube embed I try is this jackassery
GIMME GIMME GIMME ANSWERS !
I am lost and scared, getting cold without my sift coat.
Yeah, I think that all YouTube embeds are now iFrames. I think it's time the sift allows them or we're going to lose 95% of embeddable material.

I would argue the point it would be more like 68%.
Incase anyone has problems finding the old embed code:
Check the "Use old embed code" option on YT, which can be found right below the box containing the embed code itself. They changed the default setting.

Thanks Radx, started to worry for a second...
Anyway we can *sticky this or to see for better informing everyone that they need to use the old embed code if they want to use youtube for now on?
mas8705 cannot sticky this post because mas8705 does not have enough Power Points. (You can always purchase more Power Points.)
Seems pretty important.
VideoSift doesn't need to allow the display of iframe embeds in order to allow people to submit them. What I mean is this: In the case of YouTube, all that's really needed to embed a video is the video ID. That ID is also in the iframe embed code. So basically when someone tries to submit an iframe embed, VideoSift could just extract the video ID from it and build a normal embed code around it, then use that normal embed code for the video post.
As ^cdm described, if you try to submit a YouTube iframe, the corresponding Flash embed will be used instead.
Also, anyone else having problems with the VideoSift embedable player? They won't post for me.
Awesome quick work there Lucky... could you do the same for Vimeo as well?
I can see both of them removing the 'old' option in the future though, so probably best to get things working in the background to support them natively.
It doesn't work for me, or any of my sockpuppets. Have you tried it with your sockpuppets? Maybe you'll have better luck than me.
Also, you're stupid. >> ^blankfist:

If by sockpuppet you're speaking about the time when you put that sock on your winkie and called it Captain Nimoy Ahoy, then, no, I have not tried it and I plan not to. Last time you told me if I gave him a couple smacks he'd vomit, but it felt more like something wet and viscous under the sock which was indeed NOT vomit, sir.
There. I made a joke about being duped into jerking you off. Who's stupid now?!

Fixed now. For example:
However, there's apparently an issue with the fancy conversation code that makes them break if there's a quote in your comment.
*dupeof=me
See how I made it a *invocation joke, which has only been done here 475,000 times before? It's that 475,001st time that knocks 'em dead.
Okay, you can touch my wiener now. >> ^blankfist:

Beyond YouTube, I think the general point is true though- that the video world is moving towards iframes as a way to deliver device agnostic video to devices.
We need a submission instruction/text that say to use embed and how to get it for Vimeo and YouTube.
http://www.theonion.com/channels/ifc/ has iframe now. Uh, where are the embed codes? I cannot find them.
