CrushBugsays...That is awesome. I had heard it described, but I had never seen it.
Jinxsays...Did it just go "wub"?
ps. Title needs another n.
AeroMechanicalsays...Could it be a standard cloud to cloud arc but seen end on so that it appears ball-like? I know that the existence of "ball" lightning is disputed, and to me the end-on-view seems the simplest explanation, so Occam's razor and all that.
greatgooglymooglysays...I think the duration alone disproves this being normal lightning at a strange angle.
Stormsingersays...I've seen ball lightning, or something that seemed terribly similar to the descriptions, once. As a wild, midwestern thunderstorm was rapidly approaching, there were two glowing balls around 3-4 foot in diameter "bouncing" along above a set of power lines. They lasted just a few seconds, fizzling out about the time the rain hit.
Paybacksays...Is that just clouds or Aurora Australis?
kingmobsays...I though it was like a basketball? ball lightning that is.
Paybackjokingly says...Nah, this wasn't lightning, it was a reflection of his kid's BB8 nightlight.
ps. Title needs another n.
OverLordsays...Oh god. Stupid iPhone.

StukaFoxsays...I love the fact we live in a world where there's still thing science can't fully explain.
w1ndexsays...So, did a Terminator just arrive from the future?
Mordhausjokingly says...great balls of fire
Zawashsays...Everything's out of focus - could just have been a cloud to cloud lightning strike - the "ball" here seems to be clouds lighting up from the strike. Nope. Don't believe it.
Cool, though.
ForgedRealitysays...Hmm... Never seen light move that slowly as it bounces off objects. Do clouds possess some type of magic, other-worldly temporal physics in the reality in which your crazy, tinfoil-hat-wearing brain resides?
Curious minds want to know!

Zawashsays...The lightning strike takes some time - with several subsequent strikes.
