nanrodsays...Please God, let this be as graphic as Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon.

NaMeCaFsays...Oof. That fight scene in the beginning was atrocious. I've seen B-grade movies with better fight scenes. Either Charlize can't "fight" for shit or the director/choreographer needs to be fired.
Meh. Looks pretty corny and forgettable all over actually.
transmorphersays...The whole movie looks cliche as F

lucky760says...Ho Lee Fuk.
While that opening fight scene felt too choreographed, it's still awesome to see her in an extended hands-on-violence scene all shot in a single take! American movies far too often turn every punch in a fight scene into pile of a dozen different cuts spliced together.
Overall, this looks pretty killer to me. I can't wait until it's released [on TPB].
transmorphersays...Yeah good point, those awful fast cut action scenes where you can't see anything is Hollywood cancer.

poolcleanersays...David Leitch is a seasoned stunt coordinator/choreographer. His stunt work can be perceived to be hit or miss, but he has a fairly solid track record. Look him up, he has worked on some SHIT movies, but he's also worked on some modern action classics. It's easy to get triggered by women beating up men though, so I feel ya.
He's also the director of Deadpool 2.

poolcleanersays...Every good action flick deserves an ownable soundtrack. As much as people talk shit on the original Tomb Raider, it also has a kickass electronic soundtrack. MY GOD SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THESE THINGS AND ISN'T JUST A CYNICAL HATER!!!!!

Jinxsays...I thought the fight scene was rather good actually.
SDGundamXsays...So this is basically the female version of John Wick but instead of a puppy getting killed it's going to be her ex? It's cool to have a female kicking ass and all, but I feel like they aren't treading any new ground here, as opposed to Furiosa in Mad Max who I found actually quite refreshing as a kick-ass female lead (and a one-armed one at that).
dannym3141says...I think those bits where Theron gets hit and falls to the railing and the floor were the bits that normally get cut. In my opinion those were the bits that look least convincing and draw people out of the action. Jackie Chan is the bible on this one - Theron probably hasn't been in many fights.
But presumably this fits to the style of the film - out of context, very few movie combat scenes would shower themselves in glory. But when you're watching say, an Arnie movie, you don't care.
