I've had this picture as my desktop since I found it a little over a year ago.

Well, I have changed it to something else but I always change it back to this. I just love that picture.

I guess to fully answer your question, @JiggaJonson, my desktop, including task bar and icons, would look like this:

All you'll see is one icon - the recycle bin. As I mentioned, the background changes every 20 minutes, but the recycle bin and the task bar are the only other things in view. I have no problem sharing this info.

However, don't ask me what my browser's bookmarks are. Those records will remain permanently sealed.

- my desktop on the other computer is very organized with links to everything i need organized by type (music,video,games,internet,utilities) but because of the broken screen i haven't used this laptop a lot, so that's why it's a mess

I change my background ever hour between a bunch I've collected around the web. I have Wow in there, but my account isn't active right now. No time.

I took the photo myself of an old clock with my macro lens. That large rusted flat part is maybe an 1/8th of an inch wide. I like my desktop nice and clean; no clutter.

I am too lazy to switch to another computer through KVM, type startx, and screen capture my old Debian's KDE v3.5.10 desktop right now. Maybe later...

My desktop is a solid 50% gray so it doesn't mess with my colour perception, no icons apart from drive mounts (only because I haven't bothered to find out how to remove those) and then a taskbar on top, dock on bottom.

I don't see why I'd want to keep anything at all on the desktop since it's always going to be covered by any number of windows anyway. The desktop is probably the least convenient place to keep any icons.
