Anyone up for a Los Angeles Sift Up?

I'm going to be in L.A. the 8th and 9th of July. I'd love the chance to meet some of you beautiful people carnally. Anyone up for a casual meet-up over a few Pabst Blue Ribbons? - (or whatever you guys drink over there these days). I was thinking we could all bring hammers and ban each other on the head at various times in the evening.

Actually, weren't we talking about doing one, years ago now, in Orange County? Could've sworn I'd tried to get one stated some time later... on yeah, I did .

Anyways, snarkiness aside, I'm up. Funny, wanted to do a sift meet in California before I leave. Moving to Arizona end of August for school. Good a time as any!

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Either of those venues look good. I'm even up for an OC meetup - it depends on what location is most central to everyone.

A couple ideas for locations.

West LA/Santa Monica

Bar Food on Wilshire (Gastropub)

Casa Escobar on Wilshire (food isn't great, but the margaritas are potent)

Central LA/West Hollywood

Third Stop (Gastropub with an awesome Parma pizza)

The Grove + Farmer's Market (Variety, outside mall)

Well if we're up for splitting the distance Long, Seal, or Huntington Beach is about the mid-way point between the hearts of LA and OC (coastal at least). Sadly I no longer hang in any of those cities anymore so I have no suggestions for places (unless I start using Yelp )

I hate beer and I'm allergic to alcohol... but as long as the place serve decent coffee, I'll try to make it. Unfortunately, my hubby (dft) is out of state. Also, if @youdiejoe doesn't attend, then no video. He's the official Sift up videographer!

If everyone else if up for it, let's do it closer to (or in) Orange County, so I can make it as well. (My ban hammer is too heavy to be carried long distances.)

We could do a more general purpose spot like BJ's Restaurant and Brewery at the Brea Mall, which is just across the border from LA County.

Done! Let's meet there. I love BJs. The brewery that is. And the ones where women put their lips on or around my junk until I go sploosh. I instantly recognized that as an uncalled for addition to my comment.

There's also a Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ restaurant close to Brea Mall right off the 57 and Imperial, I believe. They have lots of room to accomodate big parties and a full bar. Win-win!

Hellooooooo! Can we take a break from the other annoying Talk Posts defending trolls for their dumb-ass race-baiting comments and figure out important things like where and when this Sift Up is going to take place, once and for all? Let's do this!

I don't think I want to meet you people in person. You scare me.

Oooh, right by Fullerton where I go to church!

Anyone have a comfy couch for 3 nights? If not I'll do AirBNB. I've been told I fart in my sleep after a couple of beers.

I don't have a couch. You can sleep outside in a dag house! Would you give me the root/administrator access to VS server if I let you stay in it? j/k!

OMG yes! @ant is going? Yeah!!! I do wish we were going to Lucille's though. They have amazing tri-tip, bbq ribs, and biscuits with apple butter. Ah well. BJ's is ok, I guess. They are only a step above TGIF's in my opinion. Then again, I haven't been there in a long time. I am probably way off in my estimation of them.

I didn't confirm that I was going! Reread what I said! Your husband (didn't know you were married ) isn't going? Oooh. I also don't like alcohol either, and coffee. They make me puke.

Issykitty says...

They have other things to drink there, I'm sure @ant. Chocolate milk, sodas, water, water with ice, water without ice, water with lemon, iced tea, orange juice, apple juice, tomato juice, lemonade, club soda, virgin fruit drinks, iced tea/ lemonades (also known as arnold palmers), cherry cokes, shirley temples...

"And then?" Yep, I just drink water with no ice since it's free and good for my body. I just can't drink too much or else I will pee. Funny, I just went to TGIF today for lunch with my old Christian friends.

If at all possible, how about we meet in the middle and make it 5:30pm, Saturday, July 9, in the year of our bot 2011? If it's at 7pm, I'll probably only be able to stay for a short while. (I need to be home to put the little one to bed. )

[edit]
Guess I was a bit late with my request.
