Melania Trump Plagiarizes Michelle Obama

At least one passage in Melania Trump's speech Monday night at the Republican National Convention plagiarized Michelle Obama's speech to the Democratic National Convention in 2008 almost word for word.

To be fair, they both probably had it written in part or entirety by speech writers. I actually feel kinda sorry for Melania - I mean, she is married to Trump.

What I found most telling was one of the differences no one's mentioning....Michelle said she and Obama were raised with these values, but Melania said "From a young age, my parents impressed on ME the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect", which was a good change for her to make, because clearly Donald's parents did not teach him any of those lessons, they taught him the exact oposite.

@HenningKO Are you serious? We aren't talking about similar themes or concepts. We're talking about large segments being word for word identical.

What is your theory that it was a coincidence?

Taken individually, perhaps there could be just similar sounding soundbites...but taken as a whole, it's a word for word repetition with only a few minor changes (but wouldn't it have been great if she has said "Barak and I were raised with many of the same values"). They've now admitted that 1) she didn't write her speech as she repeatedly claimed and 2) many parts were plagiarized (not that they used that word...they said "borrowed from other speeches that fit her narrative").
And, as you alluded to, FAR less than 1 in 1 TRILLION odds that she didn't plagiarize is also pretty convincing.

To be honest, these could have been any two speeches coming out of any two politicians' faces in the last 30 years. Not sure I see it. There's not a single distinctive turn of phrase or sentiment in that section of Michelle's speech that could only have been taken from her...

ETA: but okay, I guess I gotta defer to the statistical analysis. https://www.washingtonian.com/2016/07/19/we-ran-melania-trumps-speech-through-a-plagiarism-checker/

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Not her firs public lie, in fact she's been publicly lying about herself since she met Trump, with his help.
Apparently she's repeatedly claimed to have a degree she never had....she actually left college before completing (nearly failing) her freshman year and never returned....but her biography both online and in her introduction at the convention claimed.....
"began modeling at age 16, but she only began working full-time after obtaining a degree. She graduated “in design and architecture at University in Slovenia"

What a pair of enormous frauds. The Republicans have one hell of a ticket. This is what you get when your entire party gets their "information" from Faux news.

IT was more the fallout and the blame pointing that annoyed me.

This guy is supposed to be president...

"Yeah she may have copied a couple thoughts...sorry...let's move on"

That's how Obama did it.
