Sifty e-mails me randomly these days. I just got e-mail about 3 deaded videos, when I had siftys comments about 4. He didn't e-mail me about my latest top-15 entry, though he e-mailed me about the one before that. But he skipped one before that. I think he just e-mails randonly these days. None of those would have any quotes in them.

I think he's getting old.. senile.. or mebbe he's got a GF.

I just now I can't really count on e-mails to figure out what's going on, I need to actually come and read my comments, and go 'Oh! I have deaded videos!! Why didn't Sifty frigging e-mail me!'

It is OK, it doesn't bother me. I see way more inconsistent people at work every day

I'll second this. I think Gmail is being a bit overzealous - found lots of videosift and other legitimate emails in the ol' spambox today.

Nothing has ever been in my spam folder from sifty - I check my spam daily just in case (and I use yahoo mail for VS). Like I said, sifty e-mails me randomly. Some mails about deaded videos arrive, most don't. I think I get about one notice out of every 4 or 5 messages sifty leaves me. Or people in general - I don't think I have gotten any notices about messages from 'regular sifters' lately.

Good catch, @lucky760 - I just found them all in gmail spam as well. Don't I feel smart, now!

@blankfist, do a search on "in:spam from:Siftbot" if you're using gmail as well.

I made a filter that puts a label on all the mails from siftbot, so they never hit my spam folder.

Matches: from:Siftbot
Do this: Apply label "Videosift"

Yes, ^that is a good interim solution. In google you can select "never send to spam" for such emails.

It turns out that after that power outage we had recently, our servers got added to the spam blacklist again (because a setting on the server was reset and caused our emails to look like spam).

The setting has since been restored and we have requested that we get removed from the blacklist, so hopefully all will be right again with the world before too long.

Yes, I do not receive e-mails. But then, I opted out of that shit.

An easier solution is to just add siftbot@videosift.com to your address book. Email from people in your address book never go to the spam folder.
