How do you approach the Sift?
Ever since I became more than a lurker here I wondered how the Sifters and Siftims checked the videos (especially the frequent users).

Front page first - First two pages of 15 videos sorted by hotness.
Then the first 2-3 pages of unsifted videos.
I much prefer promoting unsifted videos to give them a boost towards being sifted.
All of the above.
Front page, then favorite channels, then unsifted, then top fifteen.
I change my approach all the time.
Currently, I go to the comment stream and read comments to direct me to a cool new vid (the comments are a gold mine!)
I also go to Recently Posted and look at the top vids expiring soon. I'm also looking for the Dread Red P -- I like to welcome new folks. It can be scary posting here for the first time even if you have been lurking for awhile. I like to do my part to be make the Sift more accessible and grow the community.
Three weeks from now, I'll probably be doing something else.
Your honor, the prosecution is leading the witness!
I don't fall in to those conventions.
Top 25 list - - yes
Expiring soon list - yes
Page through the "Front" - Yes
Page through the "Unsifted" - Yes
Link to videos through "Comments" - yes
Random word searches, page through - yes
Your need to pigeon hole me has failed - Mwaaahahhaahhaaaaaaa....
Unsifted, sorted by queue date -- nothing else, really.
As usual, the comments are far more interesting than the poll
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Always, always always - recent comments first. I scroll down to the bottom to see approximately how many comments per hour are happening, and then peruse several pages of comments looking for interesting happenings, or trouble. Then Sift Talk, then blogs - then front page. I realize that's probably the opposite to everybody else.
my homepage is set to my comments page...that way I start every internet browsing experience with the utmost in quality and humor.
approach varies depending on how recently i've visited, and how much time i have... but generally my progression is something like this:
top15 -> first page of sifted by newness -> top new discussions -> sift talk -> blogs -> unsifted -> particular channels i like -> various weird advanced search algorithms
I have a giant dartboard which I spin and fire potatoes at with my potato gun. Then I drink a fifth of Jim Bean, and go to Beggar's Canyon.
Exactly like dag, wtf.
I have the Sifted and Unsifted RSS feeds hooked to Google Reader. After scanning through titles there for anything that jumps out at me, I look at recent comments, top vids expiring soon, etc. to see if I missed anything that I might have liked.
Beggar's canyon, the rest of unsifted, comments if I have more time. Playlists and pq's if I have even more time than that, then front page last of all.
I arrive, first, at my own recent comments page so I can revisit any conversations I'm participating in.
Then I peruse the top 25.
Depending on how I'm feeling that day, I may make my way to the front page (sorted by "Newness") and occasionally to unsifted.
type boobs into box, click search
(repeat)
Rear page. J/K!
Front page with recently promoted ones.
From behind.
Voting for this poll ended with the majority of users voting Front page.
