Tucker Carlson Attacks Jon Stewart Over Jim Cramer

Looks like someone is still bitter. After the brutal beatdown of Cramer and MSNBC last week, Tucker must be a glutton for punishment.
JiggaJonsonsays...

No he wasn't the only analyst who fuck'd up BUT he was the one who went on four different shows proclaiming his innocence Tucker you jackass. And he has the balls to say that Cramer went on TDS and was "butt sniffing" after the slap in the face 'I'm not gonna be your monkey boy' from John Stewart. hah

I'm really getting tired of conservatives attacking liberals for criticizing things.

^Stewart doesn't have to.

In speaking, Tucker essentially goes after himself. The way that he minces words, fabricates perspectives and throws so many fish that there's a sea of red herring swimming circles around his own insipid wit, he begs to be called out but often isn't because he mostly only keeps like company. Even if he isn't aware of it, he plays up to a republican base that is still upset that a man of the same race that worked their great grandaddy's cotton fields had, not only the audacity to run for president, but the audacity to win. The sad thing is that there are still people out there who will make the same kind of mistake that Jim Cramer did, by accepting the word of CEO's without fact checking, and accept the words that roll off of Tucker's lying tongue without a grain of salt, or attached polygraph.

I'm glad the Zurawik puts Tucker straight at the end of the clip though.

Tucker Carlson was wearing a bowtie back when Stewart made fun of him for it.
Now... no bowtie. Haha.

I'm a huge Stewart fan but I'm skeptical about whether or not he can really go after Obama in a way that he might want to. I'm sure his audience demographic data shows a very big lean towards Obama supporters. It would be difficult to make any big changes, as the ratings could suffer dramatically.

Show me one clip of Jon Stewart claiming he's a journalist in any way. He's a fucking satirist. He has zero responsibility to be nonpartisan, in fact, it's his job to take a side and express his personal opinion. He's not "hiding behind being a comedian"... he IS a fucking comedian.

If Jon Stewart renames his show "The Daily News" then we can all come down on him like a ton of bricks.

KnivesOutsays...

Agreed Dag, this is good news for TDS. And in a way for Tucker Carlson, because up to this, he's been... where?

WTF knows? Under a rock after his last beat-down? I'm sure he's just happy to have some face-time on the boob-tube.

Its been my impression that for the most part, TDS has always seemed to come out with a Liberal viewpoint mostly because its been on for 10years now, and 8 of them have been with Bush at the helm. When you have someone like Bush presenting you with new material practically every day, a show like that is going to end up with a Left sided appearance, whether they are in fact or not.

I think Stewart *could* go after Obama if things really fuck up, but I'm not sure if they actually will. Personally I'd rather not have Obama fail badly enough to warrant a smackdown by TDS, merely because I think if they did in fact fail that badly, the US might be so far down a hole by that time, we might not come out of it. Still, there will have to be some screw-ups at least even if Obama succeeds in pulling this around, and I'd enjoy any amount of TDS coverage.

Wasn't Crossfire canceled a short time after Stewart came on?

I see Tucker is wearing a tie. Must be he got laid finally.

Course it's a pink tie.. that guy has some issues.

And it that one dude, Zurawik or what ever, is wrong. It is not the purvey of journalism to help citizens make smart choices, thats the purvey of consumer reports.

Journalism is there to be critical on all things and especially to ask the real questions in situations like the one we are in today. We have Freedom of the Press not so they can inform the consumer of what their corporate office wants them to hear, but to critically think and report on our world. Not to tow the political line, but to challenge political lines.

When these journalists and pundits clearly don't even know the purpose of the Press (such as the one guy I'm talking about,) then you know that real journalism is an endangered species, with people like John Stewart one of the few real 'journalists' left.

And Carlson is a retard. Stewart is clearly a democrat but to call him a 'partisan hack' is beyond ludicrous. Does he not remember John Stewart busting Bill Clinton during his administration? You could probably pull up dozens of clips of him hammering that administration over the years.

Last (edit) Stewart wasn't busting CNBC and Cramer, though they were clearly the immediate focus. He was busting on ALL of today's corporate media, particularly any of the 24 hour networks that propose to 'report' on ecconomics.. which AFAIK is.. all of them.

I personally can only hope that this isn't over. I'd be beyond happy to see this situation continue and for Stewart to just keep up his fantastic work.

Let's see. He helped to take down Crossfire, he gets one high level candidate after another on his show, he says something and the news media picks it up, sounds like a serious commentator to me.

The mistake we too often make is to confuse the way someone makes a living with who they are. Jon did the same thing Olbermann did a few years ago. He decided that someone with a platform should probably say something, then he realized he was someone with a platform. If the real news would do real news then comedy shows wouldn't be known for some of the best political analysis out there these days. As long as the so called "news" is doing what they are doing, then someone needs to say it.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

I actually hope Jon just ignores him entirely. It's obvious Carlson wants the exposure.
The best way to prove Carlson is absolutely meaningless would be to not acknowledge him at all.

Your wish granted. JS didn't take the troll bait.

I swear that the Daily Show writers are looking over our shoulder. I know at least one of them is. http://www.videosift.com/video/Daily-Show-visits-the-Sift-Freaks-Out-over-Weather-Promo

That was around when the Iraq war started, and that was when the Daily Show started being a good show.

Oh, Stewart, Please go after Tucker. Oh please, oh please, oh please.

Stewart already effectively got Tucker fired when Crossfire was canceled almost immediately after Stewart went on the show and destroyed it and Tucker at the same time. Tucker is the TKO'd boxer lying on the floor muttering incoherently about how could have won if his coach had let him go back in.
