Three Hours Of Walking In NYC As A Homosexual Man

The Videosift pundits dismiss the one with the man in drag because they think it was intended as comedy. This one, however, is clearly not intended as comedy, and he gets much worse "catcalling" than the others.

Via New Now Next: By now we’ve all heard of the social experiment in which a woman walked through the streets of New York for ten hours as cameras captured catcalls, whistles, commands and more than a 100 unsolicited comments from male passersby.

And you’ve probably seen a few of the spinoff experiments, showing the street harassment faced by overweight men, women in hijabs and drag queens, among others.

We were intrigued by a new version, which shows YouTuber Dennis Cee dressed up in a stereotypically “gay” outfit—too-tight jeans, a cropped v-neck tee and a shopping bag clutched just so.

Sure, it’s not a look we’d go for, but hardly deserving of the shoves, “fucking faggots,” and 50-other-plus instances of harassment he endured on his trek.

Granted, Dennis Cee’s usual videos are more in a juvenile vein, like “extreme farting into a hoodie,” but its still a good reminder that even as we move toward equality, the streets aren’t always so safe for LGBT people. (And maybe Dennis learned something about walking a few miles in someone else’s shoes.)

I pretty much expect to hear that this was a hoax. If not, that's crappy, but not the worst by far. My bro got a baseball bat to the head for being male in a 'gay area' in Houston, and he's not gay.
I'll reserve my vote for a few days to see if this is all fake.

Normally we only get to see the Fun loving Left wing TV and media POV that the push that every one loves gays.

Just shows what real Americans think about gays.
I guess it sucks to see the truth if you are a leftist.

These people aren't "real americans". They're bigoted uneducated fuckwits, if this is even real.

Seriously @Trancecoach, you're now upvoting bobs homophobia?
I knew you were an asshole, but I didn't realise you sink this low.

I was about to upvote this but the clip of other videos by this youtuber instantly reminded me that this guy is a complete asshole.
The experiment is worthy, but the guy doing it is pretty reprehensible.

That's a large part of what makes me think it's fake.
The creator, and the 'real man' was WAY too reminiscent of the guy that followed the woman in the original video in this 'series'. It instantly seemed like a parody to me, much like
http://videosift.com/parody/video/10-Hours-Walking-The-Streets-Of-LA-As-A-Woman
which was definitely made as a parody according to it's creators. This one wasn't funny though, so I'm still unsure.

I think that the initial intent was to create some kind of a parody. I also think that through his stupidity he actually managed to expose a rather sad side of our society. It is too bad that there are people out there that think like the morons in this video seem to think. Its also too bad that the idiot in the video took such a stereotypical view of gays and almost seems to mock them.

A baseball bat to the head is certainly much worse than a catcall or a "have a nice day."

It could have been....but it was not. It was a group of 3 early 20 something jocks that called him 'fag, queer, butt pirate' and some other insults as they beat him.

Ah, but maybe it was the gay guys from that gay area who attacked him for not being gay.

Sorry to say, but I have to wait too to see what this video really is. It is "homophobic" in it's own way, just by using the entire notion of "dressed like a homosexual". This reeks of someone trying to do the same thing as the women, as mentioned in posts above. But, was it a real attempt to show something or was it a parody. To me, it seemed to be a mixture of the two.

But, when they use the caption that they did at the start and the statistics at the end, they tried to make it real...so I'm really in the mood to just downvote this outright.
