NetRunnersays...I'm gonna invoke *lies, since most of these are noteworthy because it shows the press telling the truth about a Republican-engineered lie.
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Lies) - requested by NetRunner.
quantumushroomsays...Fox needn't be brought into the equation.
The mainstream media suckknobs (re: everyone but Fox) have gone from hating Bush to fawning over "57 states" Obama. Because the so-called "Fourth Estate" has given up any trace of objectivity and become sycophants for liberal politicians, the latter are emboldened in their tyranny.
So if you work for the mainstream libbers or know someone who does, pass it along: you have failed the American people, your "journalism" is that of a shill, and the rock-bottom ratings and dying newspapers reflect this.
Long live the web!
NadaGeeksays...once again ,
Ignore Trolls.
thanks again media matters .
JiggaJonsonsays...^Quantumushroom it's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic or if you actually believe what you're saying because it sounds so ridiculous. I'm sorry but to suggest that Fox is somehow above bias is just flat out ignorant.

Xaxsays...Err, this is what passes for journalistic "excellence?"
burdturglersays...I don't see how O'Reilly saying the GOP is shrinking equals journalistic excellence. Oh, hey .. the sky is blue! Guess I'm a journalist now. Does he tell the truth so infrequently that now he gets an award when he does it? Same for most of the rest of it. Wow, known liars say something that isn't full of shit. Good journalism.
Glenn Beck? Are you kidding? It's like I beat the shit out of a thousand people in the face with a bat and then I gave the last guy a band aid. Then I get a prize for it.
I also think it's unfair the way Rick Sanchez is portrayed in this with the audio cutting out on him saying "Alright" and Rachel Maddow stepping in to save the day. I can't find the full interview but I'm pretty sure Sanchez wasn't too happy about that KKK reference either.
Chip Reid explains for a few seconds some basic commonly know facts.
Brian Williams voices a headline of a popular story.
blah blah whatever this is not journalistic excellence as I understand it.
Yogisays...Can someone explain to me what "American Exceptionalism" means? Does it mean that America can do what it wants while the UN can go be a debating society?
HenningKOsays...Thanks. Needed that.

It's Media Matters. There's more than a touch of irony intended.
It's not real journalistic excellence, it's more like flashes of journalistic integrity found in unlikely places.
burdturglersays...Oh. umm .. yeah. I knew that. *cough* ..
Well .. ok then. Carry on.
Jaacesays...There should be a filter option for comments on the Sift, e.g "collapse quantumushroom comments". That way I don't need to waste time... those seconds add up.
MaxWildersays...There's an "ignore" button, but it really needs to be more powerful. I tried to use it in the past, but what comes up is a normal looking post with the words "[show the body of this ignored comment]". Which is just impossible to not click if you have a curious mind like me. It needs to be fully hidden, or at least collapsed as you suggest.
I also think that a user should be hidden by default if he or she gets ignored by a significant percentage of active users. That way new users won't be subjected to the few remaining trolls on this site.
And yes I mean "trolls". There is a difference between trying to spark a rational debate and provoking negative reactions. It's done by presenting evidence and considering opposing views rather than engaging in hyperbole and insulting generalizations. There are trolls around here who think they are "dominating" every argument when all they really do is deflect, repeat, ignore, and generalize.

I said nothing of the sort. Fox is but one network; what about all the others?
Fox didn't exist all those decades ago before cable news and the net when the liberal Big 3 networks ran the show without any challenge to their lies.
Why are all the other networks even competing? They all say variations of the same thing: "Obama is flawless, we won't question his plans or do the math, because he's Obama and he's the President."
Garbage! Even if you agree with what Obams's doing, don't you deserve honest reporting about how it's done? Whether it's legal? Questions like: "Hey Prez, how you gonna pay for all this 'free' stuff?"
Journalism is supposed to be about reporting news and questioning authority. When it doesn't do the latter, it dies as it deserves to.
Paybacksays...^Upvote because he's completely right and without rhetoric for once...
bcglorfsays...Not a one of these clips is excellent, at best some of them rise to the measly bar of actual journalism by covering the subject honestly. Most of the clips are nothing more than editorializing, and none of them even have a subject of any actual importance, let alone in depth coverage of the soft or fuzzy subjects chosen.
Televised news just depresses me, and not in the sense of it only covering 'bad' things happening. It depresses me in the sense of the quality of news itself being a bad thing that is happening .
Throbbinsays...What you all need is a good dose of the CBC.
Njalsays...Can you please change the title to "Ten More Examples of Journalism"?
harrysays...Glenn Bleck sitting at a desk talking normal? Where's the fun in that

Though you could say that standing behind your leader and supporting him could be a sign of wisdom. People who continually try to de-rail the president and then criticize everything he does in a biased way can in no way want their country to succeed.
True, after several hardball strikes, he should be out, but cheer him on and strengthen the team in the meantime. At least see where the game is going before you start to throw popcorn at him.
Imagine, your team is out of the world series, and now you have to pick a different team until the series is over. Cheer him on like you want him to win, the economy depends on it. Yours and mine. Let's see if he can pull a few curve balls, catch a few fielders and pitch a few strikes.
Don't call the game on account of rain because you don't get your was and you're crying!
