Jay Leno still feels like something an Artificial Intelligence would come up with if you'd ask it to simulate a 20th century late night talkshow.

Hmm... I can see a few ways in which this can fail.

Either it turns into a very long sequence of death defying 3D camera work like we see in the trailer, ending with a hard Soyud landing.

Or what we see here is actually padded out with dramatic all-American family values and a sappy sacrifice for the greater good (= the guy dies to save the girl).

The best way in which this plays out already seems out. Realistically, they are both dead as soon as they are 'off structure', and they would know that. Their last moments would be best spent talking, and shutting of the oxygen supply.

And another little thing in this trailer that really bugs me is Sandra Bullock screaming "What do I do!?". Why is is the female astronaut shouting that? It just seems odd that even in a movie portraying astronauts (who are extraordinarly professional and cool headed), it's still the woman being the helpless screamer. Even, apparently, to such an extent that it ends up in a trailer.

But yeah, it looks very cool.

I think the ridiculous black and white serves a purpose, and makes the racism look even more obviously silly.

(Also, remember that this was to be viewed on small black and white television screens, and their faces would've stood out nicely on that.)

"What state is Wales in" surely reflects a deep concern about the socio-economic welfare of another nation?

Well, maybe not. But Bush is still a bright spark of hope compared to some of the current Republican hopefuls. Romney seems the least insane, but probably only because he's now one of the few that hasn't shown up in international news as being a completely ignorant idiot who would not be fit to run a petrol station.

Technically, he has not broken any law until a judge has said he has broken a law, right.

I dunno. I think the one-season thing makes this even more special in a way. If only US television learned to make shows that are just tailored to 1 season, more like the way the Brits work. If a show gets cancelled, tough luck, try something new. I don't like how every new show just assumes it will run indefinitely and never resolve anything, while everyone knows it's hard work not getting cancelled.

My internet cynicism detectors says he's the one that made the pictures. That movie is just far too good for an "hey I found this, but I really don't want to be famous or anything like that!". It all seems a bit art project-y.

Also, isnt't it pretty much insane that those two watery orbs in the front of our skull, plus the grey goo inside the skull, can decode photons into colors and eventually into a coherent threedimensional view of the world.
