Ok, GoPro makes a good commercial - Hero3

Blows my mind how quickly these little things have changed video production.

Wow. I cannot remember anytime I've ever watched the entirety of a 5 minute commercial. Jesus, that was pretty.

there was some truly amazing, mesmerizing footage in this video. Loved it. how much is one of these babies again?

edit: wow... i gotta say, for the quality, it's a pretty cheap camera. top of the line seems to be $399

Awesome footage, though I keep wondering what the camera was mounted to with the surfer at 1m54s in...

I was thinking it was a pole that was strapped to his waist. I would love these cameras, but I think it would be nice if they had a greater selection of lenses. Maybe that's me being picky but I'd totally buy one if I could have some variety.

I'm a bit curious as to how many cameras were damaged or destroyed collecting those clips.

If there wasn't extensive post-processing, then they really are amazing for $400. I might just have to get one (it's less than the last camera I bought, and appears to be much more capable).

It's not just vibration (which is hard to isolate from such a lightweight camera), but a lightweight camera has lots of shake if handheld. The wide lens alleviates much of the apparent effect of the shake, however.

I suspect most of the slow-mo scenes were shot in 1080p60 and time adjusted using Motion or similar to make them seem super-slow. GoPro footage lends itself to this sort of super-slow-mo quite well.

i held out as long as i could to watch this. fine, take my money. I haven't snowboarded or mtn biked in 8 yrs. I'm sure I will have undesirable results and the camera will be taken off my body by an EMT, then uploaded by an intern, which may be sifted here, but in my defense this video made it look SO EASY.

Watched this...realized I needed to watch it again in fullscreen HD mode...do yourself a favor if you haven't already.

You just -had- to point that out, didn't you?

Okay, I give up...I'll be getting one by the end of the year. Gotta love enough resolution that you can clip the shakiness out and still have full 1080p leftover.
