MilkmanDansays...Actually, a lot of that is much more positive than I would have guessed...
Heck, I'd be quite a bit more critical than that in my own assessment of "average American tourist outside of the US", even though I am an American living in Thailand myself.
articiansays...Same here. I wonder if American's have a lot more hatred for themselves than the rest of the world. That would make sense.
antjokingly says...Americans rule.
Hiddekelsays...If the people asking the question were American that would have affected the response.
The relationship America has with firearms, christianity and capitalism is what most europeans I know (a pretty good cross section) would highlight..
And topically what the hell is going on with their police force at the moment..
newtboyjokingly says...It can't be done.
American's are no longer distinguished, and no amount of finishing school can make them be distinguished gentlemen and ladies again.
JustSayingsays...And now ask some elderly people. That should be much more fun.
lantern53says...Aren't all Americans racist? Genji! Step up, brother!
Bruti79says...Oh man, the amount of times I get called American when I travel is a lot. =)

eric3579says...I would assume these people are referring to Americans they actually know irl. Not perceptions based on what they hear about America or see in media. They are at an International school where they are in contact with american students. I'm guessing you don't have many gun happy crazy Christians Americans at an International school.
I live in California (San Francisco Bay Area) and i don't know one practicing god fearing christian or any gun happy crazies. Pretty much the opposite. The part of the country that looks like that ive never seen irl. Of course it's just my personal experience.

Januarisays...Thats a pretty foxnews-esq generalization of the US... if anything i think it highlights the very wide gape between perception and reality.

poolcleanersays...YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAW!
NaMeCaFjokingly says...Loud, obnoxious, arrogant and fat would be my guess. Oh and prudes.
Hiddekelsays...I'm not endorsing generalization (or expressing an opinion about Americans), but the comments in this video seem rather more polite and insipid than I'd expect.
Europeans in my experience and in the media have very strong opinions when differentiating Americans from locals.

Wasppsays...Looks to me that everyone being interviewed look just like anyone I see in the grocery store here in Michigan.
ELeesays...One Japanese friend told me, "The difference between Americans and Japanese is that in Japan, we like to think before we speak." :-)
ForgedRealitysays...I like how most of the people saying "fat" are actually what I would consider fat. Maybe they should take a look in the mirror sometime.
ForgedRealitysays...Uhm... Newsflash: You ARE American. Canada is part of North America, soooo....

Bruti79says...Are Mexicans American as well?

ChaosEnginesays...Being pedantic, yes.
So are Brazilians, Argentinians, Chileans, Peruvians, Bolivians and so on.
Also Cubans, Jamaicans, Haitians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans (who are actually in the process of becoming a US state, I believe?) and other island nations of the Americas.
No idea where people from Guam or American Samoa fit in.

Bruti79says...Man, immigration is gonna be swamped. =)
