lucky760says...Wow. That's pretty bitchin. Especially how looking into one portal is the same as looking out of another... Sweet.
farmerbuzzsays...Also the part where 2 portals are shot way below the player and it becomes like a jump pad when the player falls through the first one. Awesome idea, I've played around with the portals in Prey, a new fps, but they don't have anything like this.
antsays...I just hope level designers don't make it so crazy and hard.
James Roesays...this is a licensed version of a students game which is available here:

dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
nice idea.
Nebosukesays...The wonders and versatility of the Source (and also previous Half-Life) engine. Sure whips the Quake 4 and Unreal 3 tech.
haggissays...Really? How many Unreal 3 engine games have you played lately? Or have you just been toying around with a PS3 devkit?
The Doom3/Quake4/Prey engine is showing its age, but UE3 is a generation beyond Source (though I love how Valve keep adding new features incrementally, like HDR, and the depth of field and motion blur in this video). Matter of fact, the original Unreal engine had portals, albeit slightly rubbish ones.
Argh, you've made me sound like a fanboy.
harrysays...Wow. The mind boggles. So.. is this for Episode Three? (as Two is set in some forests, right?)
therealblankmansays...Actually, harry, Portal will apparently ship WITH episode two- sort of a bonus single-player game. Neato, eh?
coreburnsays...I've been playing Episode 1 lately, pretty sweet. Very much looking forward to Ep 2. The new version of "Sin" in the source engine is very cool too, and it also has an extra game mode called Arena.
Paybacksays...The part where you are chasing yourself is so Phillip K Dyck.
The ability to drop yourself through portal 1, out portal 2 flying straight up, and then re-attach portal 1 so when you drop back down through portal 2, you come out somewhere else will be a blast.
ACEsays...That was sweat im going to buy it!
westysays...Fantastick just the concept of this can produce alot of invitve ideas in itself i think it will be intresting to play this in difrent game world enviroments singleplayer , multiplayer ect and then the difrent eliments of game play stratigy and action could be very entertaining
maby sumone can creat a realy pure deathmatch exsperance with this as a core wepon im thinking relitvly simple medum siced maps with left click instagib and right click portal .
im looking 4 wards to mapping for this
dmitrimsays...Good to see developers are making us pay for gimmicks we could download for free 9 years ago
(anyone remember the portal gun mod for Quake 1, included inside the Killer Quake Pack? it wasn't as advanced as this, same idea though)
westysays...No way drnitrim i missed the whole quake thing. i wish i had played them i did the shair were doom stuff when that came out but i went to driving games and missed q1-q2 and then i got into ut.
it would be cool if sumone made a histry of games vidoi with the most invitove titles of every ganra for past 20 years 20 seconds on each clip
deathcowsays...Quake-2 was GOOD TIMES !!! For me, it was the height of it. Nowadays I am into playing Battlefield-2 with my friend on my LAN with two nicely equipped machines. I like flying the cobra and having him take the gunner seat.

CaptainPlanet420says...Killzone 2 > this
Sylvester_Inksays...CaptainPlanet, Killzone 2 is a completely different game. Portal is a puzzle-based game, whereas Killzone 2 is a standard FPS, so you can't compare the two. It would be more apt to compare Killzone 2 to Half Life 2.
tedbatersays...*promote in honor of the game's launch

CrushBugsays...The game is one of the best games of 2007. Epic. Good review here on the Sift:

The first level shown doesn't exist in the game, but I wish it did. I miss my Weighted Companion Cube. The cake is a lie!
JAPRsays...OMG "Now you're thinking with portals!"
EPIC, epic win.
