I was pretty sure this was fake before, but this interview cleared up any lingering doubt I might've had.

If you could explain to me how a guy in high school would stand to gain anything from posting a video of himself half naked and trying to stick a remote control up his butt, I'll believe you. Try explaining to a girl in class you like that it was all "fake".

"We say the children are our future. Yet, as our minds are identified with the past and terrified of leaving the egoic dream state, we compel them to live out our old enslaving beliefs and habits. We cannot teach the children freedom until we are free. Until then the future is just more of the same conventional suffering and misery, dressed up as something new and exciting."

Assuming this whole situation is real, the family seems to be a large part of the problem.

The freak-out kid is actually the most plausible part. I've known people with similar problems. The family though... they make me hope it's fake.

look at their other videos, either it's all stages or that kid has very weird anger management problems..

if he hates that truck, why is he hitting only 1 corner of it and not the most obvious glass target?
with the guitar freakout, is he really that disrespectful of his dad's guitar?

seems faked

The one thing that just destroys it is the concept that the freak out kid did not know these videos were on Youtube... just impossible in this day and age. Even if he didn't ever use a computer (which we know he does since the first freakout is about Warcraft) there is just no way that no one he knows wouldn't have shown him it was up.

They're acting.

I think the problem is a lot of us want it to be real. But look at how they compose themselves; they speak with a certain smoothness that you can only do if you've prepared and rehearsed it many times. It's obviously an act, but a very entertaining one.

Very convenient that the angry kid happens to come home unexpectedly in the middle of the interview.

Seems very unlikely that any parents would take it so lightly for one son to make the other son into a notoriously embarrassing youtube phenomenon. The 'remote control up his ass' video is enough to make a high school kid drop out and enter a home-schooling program... and this is the FOURTH embarrassing video that the parents have allowed to be put on the internet.

Parents generally have to be at least semi-reasonable in order to maintain an expensive lifestyle like that. (See the truck video for a view outside.)

Also, there's such a large difference in size between the brothers, it seems unlikely the larger one would allow himself to repeatedly be embarrassed so severely by the smaller one.

Too many coincidences.

The grandma makes an appearance in freakout #6:

And there's a crazy family dog in freakout #7 - skip to 2:33 to see the dog attack Stephen:

I'm convinced now, this is fake and should be tagged viral. In #6, grandma just happens to have the paddle right next to her. Then the phone rings and she's asking where the phone is, then asks if it's up his butt.

'I watch it all the time...' LOL! where's my damn remote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if this is real and it appears to be, the older bro IS ill... however the little bro and ma seem to be opportunistic and obviously could care less what happens to their kin... 'merica!
