Apparently this is newly observed behavior. I was about to say how dickish it was to put the toad in a bucket so it can't out hop the beetle. But I guess sometimes that's the only way to get science done. Put nature in a bucket and see what happens.

Wonder what would happen if you put a cane toad in there instead. Looks like the beetle went straight for the area where the poison sack would be on a cane toad
