$400k CSI Opening Sequence - Season 10

I'll let this exchange from Reddit describe the video:

-"Fancy special effects does not a good show make."
-"You're right, but irrelevant. We're talking about the shot, only. Which is awesome. It doesn't really matter that the show sucks."

My job isn't to care about the money spent on this. That was awesome; suspenceful!
There was so much going on there. That really takes the art of film making to the next level. Really, I mean, in the realm of "entertainment", that just painted one second of an amazing action scene, letting us wonder around as if we lived outside of time.

I bet that is what it is like to be Q
*quality

The FX weren't THAT fancy. And the show doesn't suck. CSI Miami and CSI NY are terrible, but this show is generally pretty decent.

And come on, it's got butt-kicking Morpheus. How can you not like that?

How dumb, I'll never watch a show, you had to sit through that as an opening.

Why bother spending that much time and money into "bullet time" and then have tons of non-sensical bullshit. The casings are the same distance away from every gun as the bullets (and showing gravity arcs). In one case there is a gun firing in the middle of the air, but the fucking bullet is the same distance away as the guy's hand who "pulled the trigger".

It shows the same attention to detail and "science" as appears on that shitty excuse for a detective show.

Gee I've been away from TV so long I missed CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York and now I'm missing CSI the Matrix! Having a life is so cumbersome I envy all the bored housewives graced with such manna from the box

WHAT A PIEEEECE OF SHIIIII!!!!

All the people look like fucking Mdme. Toussaint wax fucks, and the stupid 'camera' has to fly through everything with any kind of opening. Stupid bullshit, and waste of money and energy, this show. Always has been and always will be, Morpheus or not.

I haven't watched the show since Grissom left, However, I don't see why you hate the intro.
The camera doesn't fly through any opening, it goes down the hall. It goes through a vent on the ceiling at one point because the morgue is on a different floor.

I thought it looked fantastic, personally.

It went through a pair of scissors.

Why so negative folks. The intro was good, maybe not great. The show is good even if it's not believable and gives the stupid segment of the viewing public false impressions of the capabilities of forensic science. And of course everyone knows that lab workers run around in the streets with guns interviewing suspects and witnesses. But that doesn't mean a show can't be entertaining. I sometimes like to watch CSI Miami just to see David Caruso's intro as in the following link:

David Fincher has been doing this for years.

The first thing I thought of was "huh, this reminds me of the beginning of Fight Club". Then I saw Morpheus and thought "when are all the leather suit wearing chicks going to show up".

It was still pretty neat.

After I saw Carousel, mentioned above, I wondered how they did stuff like this... and then I found out, and most of it is very low tech. All the people stand or hang around very still during the shot. If anyone is in a position they can't get them in, they use a dummy and cgi the face/head on later.

A lot of the larger items in mid flight are hung by fishing line (removed later in post), and most of the small stuff is digital.

So, it's taking low tech: people being still and things being hung around on wire, and mixing it with high tech: removal of lines, adding of particles for cool end result.

But... Carousel is WAY cooler as it has an awesome twist in the story it tells.
