This is really over-blown. CP - please don't put posts in channels where they don't belong. We take our classification of content fairly seriously. well can't we make it so that original sifter cannot change his/her own contents after it's been sifted?

It's worhty enough to get 10 votes and go upto the front page, so it freezes the way it is. And edits can only be made by other sifters? (same thing with upvoted comments right now. You get an award for one of yoru comments, but you can still edit it. So you can make it seem like people voted for a comment like 'I like to kill babies' or something.)

There will always be people who will try to abuse the system. When that happens, all you gotta do is mend the cracks and seal the gaps. After they've got nothing to do, they'll just go somewhere else to look for trouble or try to find different ways to abuse the system again.

Bottom line is that there always will be people like these, and they have some use in the community. They vigilantly find faults in our system so that we can keep on modifying it and to make it better.

So far I have not seen much progress done to PREVENT such things from happening, other than just banning the guy.

Sure he's an ass, but that does not excuse our lack of vigil to fix the fault in our system

Of course, that's kinda harsh since there only 1 coder, lucky, doing all the work, and it's a massive amount of work for just 1 person, which is another problem.

So problems we face right now is:

1. How are we going to prevent people from changing their submission content once it's been sifted?

2. How can we help videosift's maintenance problem? Which is that Lucky is the only person fixing things right now?


In conclusion, the way I see it, it's not captainplanet420's douchebaggery that's the issue. It's Videosift's vulnerability.
