Preacher Manipulates Kids into Donating Money

I remember going to youth events like this as a kid. This lady seems a bit more in pushy about the money. However, if you compare to another night out, $5 is pretty cheap.

I guess you pay for it in brainwashing though.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

As you can see she is violating scripture. Her being a preacher is in itself a violation of scripture, so it is no surprise that she twists the word of God for financial gain. This cash grab is straight from hell.

I feel physically sick when i see these manipulative brainwashers who are absolutely shameless in taking advantage of the young, vulnerable, and insecure. They have no place in a post enlightenment world, and i hope those kids get educated enough to see through these lying, amoral, charlatans.

Is this some of the "scripture" (the word scripture makes me want to gag, by the way) she is violating?

"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer [allow] not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." —1st Timothy 2:11-12

Fuck. that. noise.

No no, see that's just a metaphor and not to be taken literally. It's the part about putting gays to death that God wants us to take seriously.>> ^petpeeved:

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Different situations..one thing you should know is that some commandments refer to general behavior, and some commandments refer to specific actions within that general behavior..

@shinyblurry: Why do you want to rob god?

1 Corinthians 16:2

On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

Malachi 3:8

Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' In tithes and offerings.

shinyblurrysays...

We should give to the church, however, there is no mandate on the amount. Christians are not under the law of moses.

shinyblurry: "Christians are not under the law of moses."

This is fast becoming the new mantra whenever someone points to a passage in the Old Testament that is particularly hard to defend on moral or logical grounds.

I wish Christians would make up their minds on if they are going to claim to be bound by the Old Testament or not. The passages in Leviticus condemning homosexuality as an abomination, as just one example, seems to be on the lips of every mega-church pastor and religious right nut job running for office.
