Large Chunk of River Ice Destroys a Few Things on the Shore

Well I thought the kid was pretty mature about the whole thing. He was thinking, "Dad, if one of those metal bars comes under enough tension, it's going to snap and send a nut flying like a bullet right into mom's skull. We should get the hell away from it."

parents were good with the kids explained things clearly stopping them developing irrational panic of things.

Wow, your head must be out of your ass ! you said something coherent and fairly well spoken !

Anyone know what those metal contraptions are?

If you mean the metal frames with a wheel on them, those are Boat Lifts. They are used to lift a boat out of the water for the night to keep it safe from waves as well as you can lock them for boat security. Though most of my relatives pull them out of the water for the winter for just these kinds of problems.

Also, upvote for the family drama in the car while filming. =]

I was very disoriented at first. Then the kids started screaming. Then it made sense visually. Then... I pressed mute. Finally, it was awesome.

Yeah the beginning of the video is very hard to visually interpret. Human visual system fail.

You missed my favorite part, at 2:19 the little kid goes ... 'I just wish a lifeguard was heeere...'

aaaa-dorable

also, the kids settle down by the end, Jeeez, nobody with any patience on this board.

In all seriousness, I'm guessing there are 2 completely different people using the "westy" account. Your spelling habits alone are enough to convince me. You should work out which way to go with your partner (roommate, friend, what have you...) though, give it a little more consistency. Then we can work on capitalization and punctuation.

Your initial comment was good, btw. Although, I think a kid that age most likely would have completely forgotten about it by dinner time.
