"I would have run into Florida School ... Unarmed" trump

“So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died. And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away,” said Trump. “I couldn’t, you know, he was right in front of me and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him… he’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible. You know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look like it. It changed color. Became very red. And you have this poor guy, 80 years old, laying on the floor unconscious, and all the rich people are turning away. ‘Oh my God! This is terrible! This is disgusting!’ and you know, they’re turning away. Nobody wants to help the guy. His wife is screaming—she’s sitting right next to him, and she’s screaming.”

Thank God for the Marines. “What happens is, these 10 Marines from the back of the room… they come running forward, they grab him, they put the blood all over the place—it’s all over their uniforms—they’re taking it, they’re swiping [it], they ran him out, they created a stretcher. They call it a human stretcher, where they put their arms out with, like, five guys on each side,” shared Trump.

“I was saying, ‘Get that blood cleaned up! It’s disgusting!’ The next day, I forgot to call [the man] to say he’s OK,” said Trump, adding of the blood, “It’s just not my thing.” - Donald Trump

That's the guy who says he'd run into a building with an active shooter?

My favourite book quotes war as being most simply described as:
"Children are dying"

And as you say, when Trump had his chance he ducked, dodged and weaved every which way out of being drafted.

Lol!
One word for that nonsense, president hero, bonespurs, you lying sniveling coward.
Forgot *lies

Right... so there's a mass shooter in the school, Trump is unarmed and he'd go in? Sure... though that enforces less of his habitual lying liar that lies mental instability than his idiotic dumbassery. I'd help out by kicking him in!

People like him would rather use those kids as human shields to protect himself than doing anything remotely brave & selfless like the teachers did.

...And I would have run at the guy, and he's all like "BLAM BLAM BLAM" shooting all over the place, but I would have done a flip over his bullets and landed behind him. He would be all like "woah!" and then I would do a spinning kick to knock the gun out of his hands and I would catch it and point it at him, and then, get this, I'd say "you're fired" and I'd shoot him right between the eyes with his own gun. It would have been tremendous. Really, just amazing, great stuff. It really was lucky that I was there to save all those people and we avoided a tragedy. It was tremendous.

what is your favorite book? I'm guessing Hemmingway

We all wish, but sadly, no, he's President Bonespurs now....granted, he's a fake president elected by a foreign power, but that's made little difference so far.

Fairbssaid:

get it straight, it's Cadet Bonespurs

bcglorfsays...

It's the Malazan book of the Fallen, a series of books actually.

It's a fantasy series with magic and gods, but it gives a more accurate and unflinching look at human history than any history textbook ever has. It gives a very personal look at soldiers on all sides of wars being waged and the brutal choices forced upon them in very cruel world. Another quote from the series summarizes what sticks with me the most:
"The harder the world, the fiercer the honour."

It's the difference between heroic acts demonstrating actual sacrifices, versus hero's 'risking' dangers that we know will never harm them.

Yes. Lets confront the issue of mental health. The unhinged shouldn't be allowed access to any weapons, be they pistols, rifles....atomic bombs...

To be fair, he said "you never know until its tested" before he said he would run in there. He also said he believed most of the people in the room would do the same thing.

ChaosEnginesays...

To be fair, he also said this while criticising a bunch of people who actually do a job he's too much of a coward to do.

You never know until you're tested, fine, but it's not hard to look at the kind of person you are and extrapolate. When has Trump ever done anything like that in his life? Hell, I'd believe Nixon (scumbag that he was) would run into that school before Trump. At least he was in WW2.

Now, I don't hold lack of military service against someone, but Trump doesn't even look likes he's ever EXERCISED in his life, let alone taking on a gunman.

Paybacksays...

I'd run in there unarmed if I had a couple hundred Secret Service agents, Marines and S.W.A.T. police around me 24/7 too.
