Fox: Reporter Reacts to Controversy

Ines Sainz talks to FOX News about her sexual harassment controversy with the Jets. Hear what she had so say.

Nah, you're not going to be able to take your eyes off her cleavage.
triumphtigercubsays...

Blame the victim. A woman can't look good and dress sexy in this puritanical society without it being a big fucking deal. I don't think she made a big deal out of it. I think the media did, the jets overreacted, and she is still smokin.

I know right? If a woman wears revealing clothing she is obviously a slut. Everyone should be judged entirely on thier personal appearance and I'm sure you're always immaculately turned out and not just some neckbeard who judges others via the anonymous safety of the internet.

Shepppardsays...

What was the harassment? Did they whistle at her? Did they slap her ass? Try to pay her to take her top off?

She says near the end that "Some of the players were talking and the media overheard"

So was this not even directed AT her?

I mean, if sexual harassment counts of "Holy shit, look at that redheads ass out there" to a co-worker, then I'm guilty of that. Did I say that to the redhead? no.

If you dress a certain way, you have to have raised tolerances of opinions towards you. That goes for anything. If you dress in something that leaves nothing to the imagination, like, pants so tight your ass is shading your upper thighs... you've gotta expect that you'll have remarks made about you.

Sorta like a gazelle being offended that the lions and hyenas are salivating after having walked thru their dens dressed like a steak.

What kind of "professional" reporter, who's looking to be taken as such, dresses like a causal friday pornstar anyway?

Stusays...

In a locker room full of over grown boys who just beat the shit out of each other for fun? Who have testosterone levels above that of normal men? Yes. You don't dress like that. Erin Andrews. She is hot and dresses in a conservative manner that yes she is still hot, but does not draw out comments like this. She is around college football players who are probably worse than the NFL in terms of maturity level.

The point is there is a right way and a wrong way of being a professional in certain environment. She chose the wrong way and this happened. Is it just her to blame? Of course not, but men are men and to expect different is naive. Jeans that fit...lol, ok ok, she is naive.

You're right, but for some strange reason you falsely attribute this unprofessionalism to the recipient of unwanted sexual advances instead of the actual perpetrators. I wouldn't fucking care if she was stark NAKED and I certainly don't care that you are so willing to absolve these idiots of their responsibility as adults by virtue of them being disproportionately well-payed and privileged meatheads, she is not in the wrong and these guys were inappropriate.

"To get respect your should look like you deserve respect."

No, to get respect you must earn it. Through your actions. A concept these shit-for-brains football players couldn't possibly fathom.

One might say that dressing as she did was also an "action", as per that trite little saying of yours. For two strangers who lack the weight of their reputations behind them, what else are you going to base respect off of aside from first appearances? I certainly wouldn't have acted like these men did, but when somebody chooses to dress up to show something off, it's rather foolish to not expect any kind of commentary on it. And more vulgar than normal, with that particular crowd.

Stusays...

"Is it just her to blame? Of course not"

Did you miss that part of my paragraph or did you just want to quote the sentence before it to misinterpret what I said? I also never absolved them for their behavior. I'm saying she is partly to blame for her stupidity in dressing provocatively in a LOCKER ROOM. It's a locker room, not a press conference. If you go into the lion's den and think you won't get bitten unless you are another lion, then again, naive. She dressed inappropriately and got an inappropriate comment. If she was dressed appropriately, noone would have said anything. Cause and effect, live it, learn it, expect it.

bmacs27says...

I wish the guy would have asked whether or not she felt the blouse she wore to the interview was appropriate. I mean, did she forget to button the top three buttons? Or maybe she tried but it doesn't "fit perfectly?"

Well she may not be a whore, but she sure as hell is wearing a whores uniform.

Like I can go around wearing a cop uniform, should I expect people to not ask me for help?

EXCUSE ME. Just because I dress this way does not mean I'm an officer of the law. (Chappelle).

I'm sure this woman studied hard, earning her place as a professional public speaker because of her character, intelligence, and eloquence. She should not be treated like a ditsy blonde who waves her arms around in a distracting manner while talking.....?

Christ. Do you really not see the stupidity of that comment? The 1950s called, they want their misogynistic world-view back.

I'm going to spell this out in dot points for the slow people here who have trouble understanding this video.

1 - Ms Sainz entered the locker room to carry out her duties as a sports reporter
2 - Some of the Neanderthals were overheard by OTHER REPORTERS making comments about her appearance.
3 - These other reporters decided to make a big deal of it and write about 'OMG sexual harassment' in their respective publications.
4 - The news media, quality institution that it is, grabs the story and beats it up true to form.
5 - Ms Sainz tweets about how embarrassed she is about THE MEDIA BEATUP, not her perceived treatment in the locker room.
6 - Idiot Fox reporter jumps on the band wagon, yet Ms Sainz does a respectable job of trying to explain the truth in the interview anyway.
7 - idiots everywhere still fail to get the point.

"Did you miss that part of my paragraph or did you just want to quote the sentence before it to misinterpret what I said?"

Misinterpret? I'm responding to the guy who basically wrote a two paragraph apologetic for the NFL(which bizarrely focused more on what she should have done to avoid being victimized instead of suggesting what the offenders should have done to avoid victimizing someone else!) with a tiny disclaimer saying "Oh hey, to be fair, it's not TOTALLY her fault!" Why, how generous of you!

"One might say that dressing as she did was also an "action", as per that trite little saying of yours."

So what. The issue is whether the reaction she received was proportionate and fair regarding her own bodily autonomy. I say no. Do you disagree or not?

Basically what Raverman so concisely(cutting right through the bs) said. I have nothing against looking and thinking dirty thoughts. That isn't what these guys did though, so why are so many defending them?

If you get shot and killed while your expensive car is being jacked, you deserved it for driving an expensive car. If you don't like it, don't buy a fucking beamer. While we are on it, if you don't want to be mugged, stop wearing fucking clothes which are >walmart level. House broken into? Screw you, if you don't like it, live in a shittier place.

That's right, those grown adult men can't control themselves. Woman should wear burka's; anything less, they are just asking for it and men can't be held responsible for their actions.

For anyone who hasn't seen Chappelle's delivery
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uscmRI9ZrE

Look, clothing and how people wear it is part of culture. Yeah, it's different in different parts of the world, but whatever it is, it will always have meaning...no exceptions. The clothing you wear has an effect on others whether you want it to or not. If I choose to go to a job interview in cutoff jean shorts, that fucking means something to the interviewer. Everybody knows that.

Her comment saying those jeans are "her size" implies "there's nothing I can do about the way I look". That's bullshit. I understand people's comments about our shitty uptight puritanical culture, but this is just silly. IMO, most women know exactly what they're doing when they dress like her. They're using their good looks for power just like a tall man with a deep voice might use that to get people to listen. Can people be naive about these sorts of traits? Of course, and they shouldn't be punished for that.

All this doesn't excuse the testosterone-laden players from being idiots, but there are only two options IMO...doing it on purpose or being naive. Neither option generally garners tons of respect.

Of course, none of this addresses the fact that the "sexual harassment" stuff was probably a lot more mild and the reporting on it way overdone. However, having been in college football locker rooms (had a father who was a college football coach) ...possibly not overstated...lol

You know, right about the point in the interview where they talk to her live and she is wearing a revealing blouse, with side boob, I thought I was watching "The Onion". It was kinda surreal for a minute or so there.

edit- One last thing. One point about the surrealism that I will use as an example. In the interview they cut away and show her in a sundress that shows a fair amount. But, then they zoom in on the picture. Seriously, I think The Onion could do the same bit without changing too many things.

doubleeditftw- Also, down to the bottom right while they're doing the interview... Is it just me or is that plastic hair?

That said, she does look like a giant slut :-/
You don't accidentally end up looking like that. But of course if you're going to act like a pig because you see someone look sexy, you're still going to come off looking like a pig

Also, there doesn't seem to be a L2 speaker in the world who can say the word "Uncomfortable" naturally
