Don't kick snow on a stray cat, or else

Melvin, Michigan resident Maxx says all she was trying to do was protect her mother's dog.

This summer she had taken in a stray cat, whom she named 'Buddy.'

On November 30, 'Buddy' attempted to attack the dog and that's when Maxx tried to shoo him away.

As you see in the video taken by a security camera, she tries kicking snow at him. 'Buddy' responds by leaping at her head.

He sinks his teeth front and back teeth into her forehead, causing a gash. He also claws her face, leaving marks on her cheeks.

"Your first reaction was to get him off and when I went to go pull, I could feel his teeth," says Maxx.

Maxx ended up in the hospital and says she ended up getting an infection that manifested into cellulitis, causing her face to swell. (See the photo she submitted.)

Sanilac County officials picked up the cat and tested it for rabies. To do that, 'Buddy' had to be put down. The tests came back negative.

Maxx, who owns three other cats says, "I actually saved him from someone who was going put him down and he was sweet as pie. When they came to get him I couldn't even watch because even though he did that to me, I couldn't see them take him away because I knew what they were going do to him."

Maxx says she is still a cat lover and that she would try to save another stray if she could.

OK, Honestly there is more than just a woman kicking snow at a cat, going on here. That cat, Looks like it was was doing something to start with, for her, to be trying to chase it away.
And then, the cat still doesn't leave after the attack. It walks right up to the gate, as if it was coming back..., most likely the reason she was chasing it away to start with.

I'm no stranger, at all, to wild or feral cats, they'll attack anyone at any time for no reason other than walking by them.

I can't fathom why that cat didn't end up in the well. Once she had it in hand, (or it had her, depending on how you want to look at it) there was no reason to not make the 5 foot walk to the 'feral cat disposal hole' they seem to have right there!
Secondly, if the cat is really a danger to her dog (and it may well be) why in the hell did she leave the dog outside alone and still in danger at the end?
No! Bad owner! NnnnO!

Well you're using a short clip to make that determination, so you're wrong.

I hardly think she was protect
ing her dog. She was being a bully to the cat and she got what she asked for. Very funny

If a feral cat attacked me I'd probably kill it so I could bring it in for Rabies testing. Yeah it's too bad but there's way to many animals on the streets because of idiots having kittens and leaving them in a box in a parking lot like jerks.

Make no excuses - if if was stupid enough to get that close to me it's getting throw onto the floor a lot harder than that. Zangief Kid style.

Uh, I think I said in another thread about cat attachment behavior:
If we were smaller, they'd eat us.

Apparently, I'm wrong.
Maybe, they're just going to eat us as we are.
