World War Z - Trailer - Brad Pitt & Zombies

"A U.N. employee is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic." - IMDB

WTF are you talking about? Brad Pitt?!? Moneyball, Inglourious Basterds, Burn After Reading, fucking Fight Club... He's fucking awesome.

Doesn't come out till 2013 - they'll sort out the zombies before then... >> ^Payback:

I think you know your movie idea has jumped the shark when the only big name you can get for it is Pitt.

Again a trailer that shows us the whole narrative. Why do they do this? Why spoil your own film? Why not make a more creative trailer? I like the swarming zombies though it does look a bit too CG.

And why did I forget they always do that and watch a trailer? You'd think I'd wise up at some point.

The scenes shown here seem mutually exclusive to the entire content of the story I read. Looks like they bought rights to the book title and then made their own movie based on the name alone. Awesome title, so I can see why. But too bad that all we will get is another run-of-the mill family-values action movie.

I'm halfway through this book, I bought it to fill the time between walking dead episodes/comics. I think the studio (pitt) just bought the name & will base it on the loosely notion of sacrificing huge populations, so a tiny few can survive. I might rent it, but I definitely won't pay for it in theater.

It reminds me how I could tolerate "I am legend" until I found out how backwards it was from the book.

I like slow zombies.
I like fast zombies.
But this I don't like. Rings more of the "Infected" from Danny Boyle's universe than anything else to me.

The book was great. Why didn't they stick with the book?

00Scud00says...

Fast zombies are fine with me, but these zombies look like they've been run through a fluid dynamics simulation, a wave attack is a figure of speech and not meant to be taken literally. So I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, I haven't read the book but I did listen to the audio book and I don't remember anything like this.

@00Scud00: Spot on observation and finding the right words, thank you! These were not scary zombie masses, these were particles in a CGI fluid simulation. Way too smooth for humanoid bodies to move and behave. Too slick, too efficient. Too clean. Come on. Clean zombies?

Bucksays...

re reading the book right now! Can't wait for ANY zombie movie to come out. Slow zombies are the original scary but fast zombies really are scary even if its not tradition.

Anyone else thinks that World War Z was a bad book?
For me, Brooks tries to give a serious global perspective of a zombie apocalypse, but his portrayal of different cultures and real world geopolitical forces falls flat.
I know it's pointless complaining about a lack of realism in a novel about zombies, but it ruins my immersion when the author seems to get his impression of the world from American news and the Karate Kid.

Mireille Enos was my girlfriend for a good while back in high school.

It is surreal seeing your former high school girlfriend in a movie trailer alongside Brad Pitt.

I touched her boobies FFS.
