Issykittysays...The head tilt rules!
EDDsays...Yeah, for some reason apparently dogs tend to do that in similar situations:

ponceleonsays...Arru?
Deanosays...I get a similar look from my dad when I try to explain Twitter.
robbersdog49says...I think that baked his noodle...
nibiyabisays...That dog actually seems really smart. He checked the back of the laptop more than once, expecting to see the back of the laptop cat. And he checked the real life cat out of a genuine-looking sort of disbelief. Most dogs would either ignore the laptop or just bark at it.
budzossays...^ Yeah that is one seriously smart pooch. Definitely seems to realize the cat onscreen is the cat in the basket.
grahamslamsays...Later that night, the lady showed this video to the dog. He was so confused by seeing himself and now two cats, that he tried shoving a remote control up his ass.
StukaFoxsays...Ok, who HASN'T been that stoned before?
phelixiansays...My dog was riled up by this video pretty early on, which cracked me up. Usually she sits there not paying attention, but for some reason she defintely checked it out.
I think with her and the dog on screen it appears to be much more about the sounds then thinking that there is a dog or cat in the screen. I mean sometimes she runs to the TV to bark at a dog shape instead of responding to the sounds, but more often then not it is the sound that draws her in. The dog seems to be looking more at the speaker then the screen to me.
Whichever way, it is always fun to watch and try to deduce the logic that different animals use.
Lannsays...This reminds me of when my uncle would put a mirror out for the turkeys. They would walk up to it and then be confused as hell when they looked around it to not see another turkey.
mickd1337says...Does not compute.
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
This is precious. It's like you can see the cogs turning in his brain.
chilaxesays...This just in: video of cat video blowing dog's mind blows mind of naked apes!
CrushBugsays...The dog is thinking...
"God-damned cats. Always messing with the time-space continuum."
Xaielaosays...He's certainly a pretty smart dog to realize they are the same cat and to try and figure it out.
And yea, I love the 'head tilt' that dogs do when they are curious or confused. Like a silent 'WTF?' moment.
WaterDwellersays...I smell anthropomorphization. All I could see was a dog looking at and sniffing the computer for a while, then walking over to the cat, possibly in response to some movement the cat made off camera, then going back to watch the movement on the computer screen again (which I doubt it was able to interpret anyways). I didn't see it being confused by "two cats" (though probably from the movement on the screen that it wasn't able to interpret), nor did I see any blown minds. Your average "the World's Funniest Animals" clip. Meaning not very funny. So no upvote from me. (And probably a few negative upvotes for this comment.)
budzossays...WaterDweller, dogs don't do the head tilt at every strange object. It's s sign of cognitive dissonance. Most highly socialized mammal species will display that behaviour.
On second viewing, it does appear as though the dog is confused by the sound more than the image. Makes more sense that way and also reflects my real-world experience more accurately.
QuadraPixelsays...The owners need to play the dog the video it's mind being blown to see if his head explodes.
And to WaterDweller, that is why you don't have any friends.
Paybacksays...Dog is confused as to why the cat in the laptop is both alive and dead at the same time. Then he goes outside to lick his balls.
Paybacksays...By the way... the dog doesn't see the cat in the laptop, she just hears it. i was waiting for the dog to try to dig the cat UNDER the laptop out.
