Left 4 dead survival plan backfires

Rule one: Don't run out into the open...

Rule two: Don't leave your friend at the mercy of 20+ zombies...

Follow these rules carefully and you won't be the next leroy jenkins...

If things get hairy and I have a chance to get to the saferoom alive, I go for it. The way I see it, as long as one of us makes it, the rest can respawn next map.

Also, that guys screams were hilarious. Abort! Abort plan!

So he ran towards the boomer while he was shooting it, which covered him in pheromones as it died, attracting the first wave of zombies.
Then as they swarmed over him he panic fired with his pistols - during which it looks like he shifted his aim to the left at around 0:36 - suggesting he was probably the one who shot the car too, triggering its alarm and attracting even more.

Personally I don't blame his friends for leaving him to die. Maybe someone with privileges could add the EIA tag?

Pretty sure the voice is added later for comic effect, but its funny nonetheless, and Left 4 Dead rocks so fucking HARD, and this video shows how frantic, insane, chaotic and fun this game really is, even if no video could ever do it justice. Unlocks on Steam in about 6 hours at the time of writing. Cant fucking wait, except I'll have to go to work then..

Some dick did that to me playing the demo once. We already had one person down, he shoots the car and runs to the safe room. The other two of us get knocked down while the hoard comes. We fight them off with pistols while laying on the ground and manage to survive, but he wouldn't come out of the safe room to help us up, even though it was clear. He waited several minutes for us to bleed out for the level to end.

I'm fixing to go play in a sec now that it's unlocked. I really shouldn't because I have somewhere I have to go tomorrow.

It's worth it. I played the first campaign, the same one in the demo. The missions are a little longer than what is in the demo, and it seems to be more refined. It took several tries on normal difficulty, but I finally finished it. Technically I didn't because I was dead when the helicopter took off. I was right there at it, but I went back to help a team mate, then I got knocked off the platform. Then was about to get on it again when another member behind me got knocked down. I went back to help but then he got killed and I got knocked down, so the helicopter took off without me.

That was three hours of game play right there, and I haven't even tried the other 3 campaigns yet, I want to survive the first one before I go to the next.

Is it me or did they ramp up the difficulty too. In the demo, the gap between normal and expert was too big. Now it seems normal is a bit harder than what it was in the demo.

I've gotten to the last stand in No Mercy on Expert but we can't survive the hordes after the first tank.
Maybe we should get a fourth teammate on.. It took a few tries.

Would love to play with someone from here.

I hope there will be new maps and stuff to keep the game interesting. Is there a VS group to play with?

Exactly what I was thinking. Do most sifters that are playing/planning to play it play on PC or 360?

I don't think so because it sounds exactly like my experience with it with my friends over Xbox live on the demo last night.

Just got done playing the airport campaign with my brother. The online action is tight. Also my cpu went down(voltage over clocking issue) during our game and it kept trucking with a NPC carrying my torch till I got back in. That is fantastic. We both kept commenting on how valve has online DOWN... I mean TF2 is damn near perfect, but killing zombies.... priceless!

The game's an absolute blast on expert with a group of friends.

Earlier today, we were doing a campaign on expert and on the last map we had to defend a cabin with machinegun turret up top while we radioed for a ship to pick us up. After wiping out 3 or 4 times, our final time had not one, but TWO friggin tanks one after the other. The rest of us died and just as the last guy who survived all of that was running away from the mass approaching horde and towards the incoming ship... a lone Hunter pops out of the horde and jumps on top of that guy just a few feet away from the ship and proceeded to furiously claw out the lone survivor's guts.

Game over man. Game over.

We had to give up for the day since we were so mentally exhausted. So close... and yet so far :[

I picked it up on Steam but am holding off playing it as my Mom is coming into town tomorrow. That and I want to get a fat sack before hand so I can be in the zone. I did play through the Mercy campaign in SP Advanced and died on the roof after the game decided to throw two Tanks at me, one right after another.

Gameplay is insane. Love it!

edit: Just saw it at Circuit City for $39.99, in case anyone cares.
