I'm sorry you're annoyed by the amount of police brutality videos on the sift. Police brutality can be so annoying and inconvenient.
>> ^Sarzy:
Wow, a police brutality video! I've never seen one of those on the sift!

Well, aren't these videos getting a bit redundant at this point? We all get it. Cops can be dicks. Cops abuse their power. Is there anyone left on the sift who doesn't get that at this point?

I think this is what is known as preaching to the choir.

It is sad and upsetting that there are so many police brutality sifts, and to the point of them seeming redundant. I however get extremely angry every time I see one, and sometimes feel the need to give it the most exposure I can. If you feel it unnecessary to watch another police brutality video, I would skip over the one titled "Las Vegas Police Beating Caught On Tape". Just Saying.

Fair enough. I still think that submitting videos designed to provoke the exact same anger and sadness that the last dozen brutality videos provoked strikes me as vaguely Sisyphean, but to each his own I guess.

It might be easy to answer a simple question wrong if it's late at night and you're distracted with what's going on across the street, and being put in a high stakes situation with police can make people nervous as well. Perhaps he misinterpreted it as "Do you live at this house (the house across the street)?"

This seems to be one of the few police brutality videos on the sift that could actually happen to rationalists.

I'm glad for these kind of posts. They bring to light how dangerous to be a law abiding American Citizen.

It shows how much we are sliding towards a police state. Take note and speak up when you see this kind of abuse.

Yeah I suppose you're right. I can't help but feel that this entire situation could have been avoided if he had answered that one question differently though. Having said that, the officer is still an asshole.

we need more people rise up and capture these pigs and hang them from city street lights and video tape it to put on youtube. Make the cops scared of us for once.

No thanks. Violence will only justify their role.

astr0, MrFisk and MarineGunrock are absolutely right. Anyone who is being beaten by an authority figure for acting within their legal rights, and then cries out are such pussies. Forget about the fact that you can totally hear the pepper spray.

Cops totally have the right to put their hands on you any time they want, and if you are afraid when they do it, then it's like "two for flinching", and they are totally exonerated. Especially if it doesn't make a loud noise. When I beat my six month old son, sometimes my wife can't hear it in the other room. So if he cries out in pain, I usually give him an extra shot in the testicles, because he's such a whiny little bitch.

But don't worry. You can't actually "hear it" when I do it. So it's fine.

I'm really glad that there are people like astr0 and MrFisk and MarineGunrock in the world. Otherwise, we would be ruled by a bunch of people who cry when you invade their personal space while wearing a gun, pepper spray, a large composite bludgeon designed for cracking bone, and handcuffs to make sure you can't fight back while being violated and stripped of your personal rights. What a bunch of little bitches they all are.

Here's a question that MarineGunrock and MrFisk and astr0 might be able to answer. Sometimes, I'll pick a girl up in a bar. Then, after I drug her, take her back to my garage, tie her up, and show her my collection of boning knives, she screams like a little bitch. Now here's my question: what could possibly set her off like that? I mean, it's not like you can hear anything happening to her. WTF? Right?

Remember, here in America, it's not assault if you just force someone to the ground and break their camera. You actually have to make a noise while doing it. And that holds doubly true if they are screaming.>> ^MarineGunrock:

I'm honestly surprised they didn't delete the footage. Also, why he was screaming like a little bitch? I didn't hear st striking or the click of a taser. Pain compliance, maybe?

csnel3says...

"Stop Resisting! Stop Resisting! Stop Resisting!". This part of their act is getting creepier every time I hear it. They seem to yell it louder if the person is not resisting at all. Are they taught they can do anything the want as long as they yell "Stop Resisting"?
Is it a legal disclaimer they are taught to use if a video camera is present? I really want the truth about the training the police receive, and not just the manuals, but the verbal advice also.

Out of curiosity, at what point in the video do you hear pepper spray? To me, it sounded like the guy was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed, at which point he started screaming "HHEEELLLLPPPP" for a few minutes until he ran out of breath and began acting in a somewhat civilized manner. If he had been pepper sprayed, his screaming would have been a lot more erratic and it would have taken him a lot longer to recover.

I'm not saying that the cops didn't handle this badly, but to label this a "beating" is a bit hyperbolic.

I would much rather see every police brutality video exposed in the news then the news waste time on stories that don't matter.

If you don't like them, (A) do something about it, or (B) just keep your eyes shut until you die or it happens to you or someone you care about. Option A goes away with excessive use of option B as history will show you.

Derek Colling may have a bright future in organized crime if not law enforcement. Delivering beat downs on innocent people for dubious reasons can be profitable in certain circles. I'd certainly hire him.

newtboysays...

This is another example of why, when asked ANY question by an officer, your reply should be "ask my lawyer". NEVER answer a question from a police or law officer, under any circumstance, no matter the question (except for your name). The only thing you are required to do is identify yourself, you do not have to reply to any other question. It's your fifth amendment right. Patriots died to give you that right, don't give it away as if it's nothing.

It's like Jimbo shouting "they're coming right for us" before he and Ned take out the bunny with their bazooka. Perfectly reasonable.
