Chef Ramsay versus/vs. Douchebag Cook

robbersdog49says...

It's not easy to get the opportunity to work with a three Michelin starred chef. Whether you like him or not he can cook and his name on your resume speaks volumes.

Why do people do things like this? It's like Amy's Baking. What an opportunity! One to one tuition from a Michelin starred chef and the publicity the program brings and they piss it away.

this is not my favorite show with ramsay.
its hyped and over-edited.

that being said.ramsay is spot on with his criticisms.
he knows his business inside and out and when he points something out dont get all defensive.
he is not saying those things to hurt your feelings but rather point out the things that need improvement.

The guy is an idiot, but in his defence he was trying to allow the nominees an opportunity to admit their own mistakes rather than bitching about them. Ramsay could have just accepted that and asked the nominees themselves, but he obviously saw an opportunity to drum up some manufactured drama.

Of course, the idiot loses all credibility once he starts talking about how he "ain't no bitch".

edit: Oh and Ramsay was born in Scotland, is handy with a knife and tips the scales at a bit over 200lbs. He'd have killed him.

I don't watch the show but based on what I read and saw I am guessing that the Idiot in question was in some kind of leadership position. If that is correct then Ramsay may not have been asking him to bitch about his team mates so much as evaluate them as a leader has to do sometimes, and in turn, evaluate the Idiot's skills as a leader. The Idiot may have decided that he wasn't comfortable with this and tried to weasel out of it by getting his team mates to critique themselves. I thought the basic conflict was honest enough but I do agree that Ramsay didn't have to go on trading f-bombs with the Idiot for as long as he did and added more drama than necessary.
Meanwhile, the Idiot thought maybe he could get more career mileage by getting into a dick waving contest with Ramsay, of course if he acts like this with all his other bosses it could be a short career. (again I could be misreading a lot of this)

Ive got a butcher mate, quite a big boy....scariest threat ive heard from him?

"Ive always wanted to try boning out a human..."

Dead straight face. Scary. Ive no doubt ramsy has considered the same

From my memory of the format, I don't believe he's in a position of leadership, he's simply the one picked at random to tell Ramsay who got nominated.

But yeah, as Jon Stewart would say "it's a good ol' fashioned douche off!"

Most likely it's staged. It's real emotions but the producers are clever manipulators. So Ramsay didn't know this would happen but the guy was worked in such a frenzy, he was basically steaming before he opened his mouth. I do bet that in the control booth they were hi-fiving each other "didn't think he'd go that ballistic, we just wanted a little bit mouth but this guy went full retard, woohoo, ratings!"

And yeah, anyone who says bitch is not someone to be afraid off...

Fletchsays...

Ramsay vs. douchebag, and Ramsay isn't speaking into a mirror?

Ramsay started the namecalling, and then accuses him off "mouthing off"? This just looks so forced and ramped up on Ramsay's part. Part of the "show", I guess.

And, actually, Ramsay does sound scared, even with his two bodyguards there. His version of events seems to forget just about every single thing he said to the guy.

Fletchsays...

"Three Michelin starred chef" is a douchebag for using his success to disrespect, demean, belittle, and insult people for his jollies. I wouldn't have put up with it either. Some people will grovel to and ass-kiss huge egomaniacs who are abusive to them if they think they may benefit from it. Other people have a little self-respect. I'd hire that guy.
