Let's see. I discard my own Sift Talk post and you inexplicably become incensed and call it a "blatant violation of the rules". You discard my post and you are somehow vindicated. You live in a warped world of logic, joedirt.

As far as I see it, discarding your own post isn't against the rules. Never has been. Also, before doing so I checked the Sift Talk page to ensure there wasn't another Sift Talk post ahead of mine, so I wasn't "bumping" it back to the top.

Now, discarding another user's Sift Talk post is against the rules. It always has been. I think you're angry because your good buddy CP420 was banned, and you have some axe to grind. You broke the rules, you petty dick.

You should drop the talk about this discard nonsense, because you are on the wrong end of that deal, I'm sure if you take a moment you'll realize that people would be unhappy with that sort of behavior. (ie. discarding an 18 hour old post just because you don't like the comments and then resubmitting the exact same thing).

There's precedence set on this. I've been holding these upvote everything days since I was a probie, and if this was a violation of the guidelines, I'd be banned by now more than once. Let's put it to test. I'll go upvote everything and you, bluecliff and joedirt go downvote everything and we'll see what comes of it.

I claim Switzerland status, but I'll chime in anyway.

Mainly I think it's no big deal and if so many people are getting a kick out of it, then the community is being served and that's what really counts.

On the other hand, it will skew some of the popularity levels which will obviously piss a few people off.

I am admittedly a sympathy voter and will sometimes throw a vote for a losing video, but on the whole I vote for what I watched because if I watched it, then it must be worth watching, and that's a vote.

It's important for everybody to be honest and speak out when they have an issue, but I really hope everybody keeps it in perspective because, frankly, I like joedirt and blankfist and I'd rather not see something like this get blown out of proportion.

How about we meet in the middle. Clearly it is a violation of the very well defined and clarified rules last updated by Lucky.

But in the spirit of Holy Turkey Day, and people having more time for sifting, why not cram everything on the frontpage? I personally don't mind if the queue got cleaned out. Though you should probably stay away from pqueues..

Joedirt, I think perhaps you need to step back and look at how nutty/angry/wacko you are coming off in these three sift talk posts. But then again, you come off that way pretty much all the time, hence the "get a girlfriend" remark.

I mean, I pretty much agree with you that "upvote everything" is a silly idea, but when you come off so abrasive, even those who would otherwise be in your corner will have a hard time siding with you.
