I'd vote on the channel invocation being *time as short and sweet on those is good. Extended name beyond that could be whatever you wanted then, long as needed.

that would cover both slo- and fast-mo clips. i'd suspect 'timetravel' to cause confusion and you'd wind up with a lot of sifts about actual timetravel in there as well.

I have been looking for a reason to give somebody my first *quality and I think this one is good enough.

I know it's not that snappy, but I'd just call it either *timelapse or *slowmotion. One of my pet peeves about the sift is the amount of channels with ambiguous but "clever" names that just serve to confuse people, particularly people who are new to the site.

*Timeshift might work best, because I believe Sarzy is right. GASP! *Time might confuse people. Hell, anything to do with history could be improperly labeled *time, for example. A video with a clock prominently displayed in it might be labeled *time too. There will always be some confusion, because some people are....slow. Still, we should do our best to avoid confusing people if we can.

I like the brevity of *time, but brevity shouldn't be the best feature of a channel name, IMHO.

I think it should remain a tag.
And that Videosift needs a tagcloud, that can be RSS'd,
so you need only go to a page like www.videosift.com/?="slowmotion, slow-mo, time-lapse, timelapse, slow" and see all associated videos in order of newness.

I think *timeshift or *timeplay would be good. To me, ideally *timetravel would be the way to go because it's a nice way to give actual time travel an arena, and there'd be a ton more time lapse and slow motion vids in there anyway.

time play sounds fun

and allowing the "odd" time travel clips an additional home would hardly be a crime. can back to the future be in too many channels? i think not

How does one go about creating a channel?
I wanna create a channel dedicated to crappy slow videos that seem to never end.

My opinion is always make the URL name (and invocation) simple.
So *time (or timewarp)

But I'd call the channel "Tick tock" maybe Tick's Tocks (lol.. +5 for Nik's Naks reference)
maybe tempus temporis

Cool channel. I think you should include all types of time manipulation, such as stop-motion animation, multi-camera matrix bullet time stuff and David Lynch style backward midget frontmasking.

A bit late now, but what would also have made a good invocation is *timewarp.
