AH! that's the problem, Brentwood is not a city, but a state of mind...no it's an area in West Los Angeles it's roughly around the UCLA campus area. So the five to six hour time frame is what you are looking at.

I think LA County sounds like a good general location, but as east and south as we can get so it's as near Arizona and San Diego as possible (without putting ourselves in danger of a car jacking). Anyone know a good spot? How is a Saturday in November? Perhaps Nov 8?

I just thought of the perfect place in Los Angeles to do our meet up: Hollywood Billairds. I used to be a regular there from 2000 to 2005, and the place is very large for a Los Angeles bar (most of them are tiny caves in a strip mall.). It's known for being a pool hall with two floors of pool tables. You can reserve a section for a private party, but believe me that's all a waste of money.

There's also Red Lion Tavern, which is way smaller than "Billiards", but has its charm. It's rustic and fun. I had my one of my weekend long 30th B-Day Parties there.

I piked these two spots because they're as east as you can get in LA without it getting sketchy or some place I think can manage our needs for a Sift-Up. Unfortunately both of them are a bit further north for those of you coming from San Diego, but take it from me, south and east is not a place you want to be. South and west? Yes. East and north? Yes. East and south? Fuck no.

I'm gonna show my age, but I remember the original Hollywood Billards from the 80's and it was sketchy and super awesome, looked like it was a set for "The Color Of Money", my vote is for the Red Lion Inn local bar feel and girls walking around in Gausthaus attire!

Red Lion Inn sounds great, but the billiard also sounds like fun. I guess I'd lean to the latter, but I'm fine with whatever the majority prefers.

oh: Red Lion starts checking ID's around 7:00PM. So if there's any under-21's coming, you'll be fine as long as you're in before then.

If the weather is nice (which I heard possibly low 70's) the upstairs&outdoor biergarten at the Lion is the prime experience.

They also have loads of heaters up there, a couple 8+ person tables & the bar is fun.

No stop sign or light, I've never actually seen, let alone yielded to, a pedestrian there, but to be fair everyone drives that stretch pretty fast (35 zone). Its too close to drive too... Oh, and in case anyone wants to confirm their directions: From the Interstate 5, take the 2 freeway south (Echo Park), freeway ends in about a mile (it was supposed to extend to west LA, buts that's a whole other story), exit on the RIGHT (don't actually know what that exits called since I always go the other way, but if you stay left you get dumped onto glendale blvd going the wrong way.) Turn right unto glendale blvd (heading north), the Tavern is about half a mile away (you'll go up and over a hill, the bar is near the bottom, so you won't see it until you're pretty close) and will be on your right.

I quickly realized that I was one of the few people on the sift who uses a photo of themselves as their avatar during the last meet up in the OC. When I showed up everyone said..."OH, The glasses".
