Reminder: Personal Video Recommendations
If you've cast any votes on videos lately, VideoSift's Recommended videos page will be populated with a personalized list of videos siftbot thinks you might enjoy watching based on your recent history of up-voted videos. I was realizing there are so many new members nowadays that I just wanted to remind you about this feature, which is available under the "Front" tab for all logged in members.
Make sure you stop by there once in a while; you'll often find plenty of gems that you'd otherwise miss.
Also be sure to take a look at Beggar's Canyon from time to time. Members who send their videos there are literally *begging* for your attention, so throw them a bone! (Or a vote where applicable.)

Sorry, but there was nothing found for this listing.
Same here.

Worked fantastic for me. Fields and fields of high voted videos.
That section hasn't worked for me for months.
I'm glad I posted this, as I had no idea some users were experiencing issues with this feature. Siftbot is in the process of doling out recommendations to every member, so if you are one of the unlucky few without any, you'll have them before too long. (It will take a few
hoursdays.)I'll update again once Siftbot is finished so you'll be certain when you are supposed to be seeing some recommendations. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks Lucky - I was going to make a post about this a week or two ago, but the sun came out and that beer's not going to drink itself.
people still use beggar's canyon?
What the?!? I've never checked that out before!
still nothing...
No recomendations for me as of yet.
yup, still none over here in the land of Oz
Okay, everyone (@jonny, @Stingray, @SlipperyPete, @Ti_Moth, @spoco2), it's finally back in working order.
Please report back if all seems right with the world again. Thanks!
All is good here capn, all is good.
Works like a charm, Lucky...
and @lucky760 declared 'let there be videos' and lo, there were videos.
and the people, they watched the videos, and they were contented with their procrastination, and all was right in the world.
In that case, *frontpage.

So Videosift has its own little Video-Bubble for the users now?
It's never ever worked for me.
It used to work for me, now it doesn't
Empty for me as well.
@TheGenk: Sorry if I'm a bit slow, but I don't follow. What video bubble?
@djsunkid @dingens @critical_d: It "should" be fixed now and you should be seeing recommendations provided you have cast about a dozen votes in about the past day. Have you cast lots of votes very recently? If you've cast a bunch of votes today and still don't see any recommendations tomorrow, please report back here. Thanks!
@lucky760: Still empty. And I think TheGenk referred to this.
@lucky760 @dingens: exactly
Though I should point out that my comment was meant as a friendly jab and not criticism.
I didn't have any recommendations for a while, but do now. However, I've already watched almost all of the ones on the first page, so I don't know why they're being recommended to me in the first place.
Edit: Oh and the 2200 pages of recommended videos include killed, discarded and deadpool videos for some reason.
Is it just me or is the recommendation section not working again?
My problem with the recommendations is that they're all videos I've already seen and just haven't voted for.
I realize you probably don't have the capability right now to track which videos we have and haven't played, but that's what's really necessary for this to work as intended.
Thanks for the follow-ups everyone. The issue turned out to be that in some cases there isn't available what's considered "enough" quality data to suggest meaningful videos. I've modified it so you most of the time you'll be suggested *something* (assuming you've voted on several videos in the past day or so).
However, you still might not get any if there isn't enough statistical data to make decent recommendations. In short, the more you vote, the more we'll be able to pick videos for you.
@xxovercastxx: That's a great point. As you're probably aware, you can "unrecommend" videos in your Recommended videos listing. I've made it so if you *ever* unrecommend a video, it will never be recommended again. You'll still have to do the unrecommend (it won't happen automatically by just viewing a post), but hopefully this change will help.
