1. Read my post again. I posted here instead of self-posting, because I understood it to be bad form.

2. I respond to other members with the same modicum of respect with which they address me. I challenge you to find an instance in which that is not true.

3. Choggie is a senior troll. I've been here long enough to understand that. When his first foray is to threaten banning for all newbies, and then to troll my music video with nonsense, he gets treated the same he treats others. See number 2.

That doesn't excuse personal insults/attacks. If you've really been here that long, you should know that kind of thing is not tolerated. It doesn't matter if you have someone post it for you or not. That counts as a self-post.
And choggie never outright insulted you.

1. Personal insults and attacks are most certainly warranted when one is attacked first. Again, I challenge you to find a situation in which I have invoked ad hominem without being provoked. Edit: And saying it isn't tolerated is just ludicrous. It's most certainly tolerated, as I've personally experienced, and have responded in kind. /edit

2. Read my post again. This is not, and never was, about self-posting.

3. Outright insults and subtle insults are the same thing. Browbeating less visible users with threats is not the sort of behavior anyone should engage in, I am sure you will agree.

As a matter of fact, I really can't find even any subtle insults. Choggie knows that using the ban invocation here wouldn't do anything. Users can't be banned in Sift Talk posts. And weather or not you think the insults were warranted, they are still not tolerated on VideoSift. If you really feel the need to insult him, go do it on his youtube account.

If not, ditch the youtube attitude.

Marine: See above. Gorgon does not practice what he preaches, unfortunately. And there are obviously many many people not abiding by the rules set forth in the FAQ (which I have read), hence the necessity for me to defend myself with the same ammunition.

If you are going to make some sort of point here, please do it quickly. If the idea is to apply to rules set forth in that article of the FAQ to members here, you can start with your buddy Gorgonheap.

So I finally find a video that not only is not on the sift, but not even on YouTube yet, and I think the community will love it. I posted it to my own YouTube account, but Senior Roe has informed me that is bad form to sift something from one's own account. So I'm posting here in the hopes some kind soul will upload it to theirs so I can sift it, or at the very least get some applaud points so I can get this ugly P off my name.

If I was going to self-link, then after uploading the video to my YouTube account, I would have sifted it. I knew that was bad form, and James (whom I've known since we were in high school together) suggested I post it to Sift Talk instead, in case someone was willing to either A) post it to their YouTube account, allowing me to sift it without self linking or B) just get some applaud points.

I think lmayliffe is a good addition to the sift. He made this sift talk worth reading through. Dont nobody kid themselves about the rules. They are more like guidelines. From time to time rules get bent. The fact is nothings 100%.
