Bring back Comedy Central

I think with the return of The(A) Daily Show and the Colbert Report maybe it's time we drop the Videosift Boycott and bring the Comedy back to the sift.

As a Canadian, I think I am one of the few remaining sifters with a block on the TDS clips, but the TDS website is now opened up, as long as we watch the clips elsewhere we can now grab and embed from the TDS website.

TDS has brought many great discussions and entertainment to many sifters over the years and it feels recently the front page has slowly been filling up with the youtube junk I originally came here to avoid. Maybe we need a jolt of our favourite satire to end this trend.

Whaddayasay!

"to many sifters over the years"....

Yeah I remember back in 06', in the old days......

The question: Why. Most folks with a puter, have cable. Most folks that post CS vids, have no sense of humor to speak of of their own, not unlike the hosts of the most popular shows on CS,-NEWSFLASH!!YOU ARE JUST AS TALENTED!!! Merely dried husks, waiting to be filled with the tamale fixin's of coke-inspired, verbal masturbation-

Comedy Central on the sift, is a means by which to garner the cheap votes, with the regurgitated satire of the previous week's broadcast.

whatever happened to Tay TV....bring that back, it was way more interesting than Comedy Central.

Dag, I can't watch the TDS/CC Embeds. The Canadian alternative is still this CTV link. As for the classics, as long as people give the date - I can find the clips and watch em.

If you think Choggie that the only purpose TDS has on the sift is to "garner cheap votes" then you are in disagreement with all , If you do a search for The Daily Show: you'll find all kinds of Sifters, new and old who submit TDS clips. TDS clips get votes because there are so many sifters who enjoy TDS. What's the problem?

As much as I'd like to see Comedy Central brought back, I'm against it when they're blocking viewers from part of the world. We have a fair number of Canadians here (of course that includes you, Fedquip), and they still can't view Comedy Central's videos.

Here's an idea: Because it appears that only Canadians are affected by this (and someone please correct me if I'm mistaken), let's put the vote strictly to the Canadian sifters. Besides Fedquip I also know of arvana, Zifnab, and plastiquemonkey being from the Great White North, but I'm sure there are quite a few more active sifters from the land of tuques and back bacon. So will more North Minnesotans please weigh in on this?

I also don't think that we should bring CC back yet. Canada is 10% of our total visitors.

And the last time I checked - they don't even give a "sorry not available from your area" message. The player just doesn't work. What a crappy user experience.

Viacom must be punished! We will crush them.

Honestly, as a Canadian I wouldn't even mind if you brought back Comedy Central. I mean, obviously I won't be voting for those videos, but there's no point in punishing 90% of the sift on our account.

Here's the answer to your question Jeff...
What Choggie hates about TDS, and Real Time, besides the hosts..

We are too far down the road of being fist-fucked by our leaders, by the World Bank, BY TELEVISION, by the contrived systems in decay which we continue to feed and give our power and lives to-To simply giggle and joke about how insane it all is makes me wanna kill. Kill the perpetrators, and kill the willing dupes who feed on the shit having been bred to follow, accept, and obey. I dunno, kill is such a harsh word.....replace kill with "launch from trebuchet"

Okay, the Sift officially has a small obsession with trebuchets...

I hereby suggest we replace the *discard invocation with *trebuchet

That makes a fair bit of sense Choggie. But for me- I need to laugh at this stuff. It makes me feel better to know that other people feel it's laughable too.

I get your point though. There was an interesting critique of Dilbert a while back that it actually did a lot to "normalise" and institutionalize the negative business practices that the srip lampooned.
