I think that the propagation of humor, be it high brow or low brow is of the utmost importance to humanity. Without this in our lives you must question the relevancy of personal existance. Ok Ok. I will cease and desist in humoring the sift populace due to the apparent dislike of the few. You know I think that maybe we should look at the distribution of videos on the sift and see what the "true" makeup of our video content is. There is plenty of seriousness in the world and perhaps there is a place for only having serious topics aired. I don't believe that this is that place. If you dislike unintelligent discourse so much, then perhaps the dissenters here should look at their own sifted videos and kill all the bullshit videos they have had sifted or in the top 15 as a show of true willpower. To @dag , you can't let the minority of serious Sallys overpower the many. I count 11 votes on the poll versus 6 dissenters that have expended undue energy nixing a little randomness. To the naysayers... I will now systematically look at all your videos in order over the next 3 to 4 days and UPVOTE all of your humorous posts. Especially cute cat ones. You have been warned.

Dude.. Make a sift talk, make a blog post.. Just don't abuse the polls. They are limited to 1, and will stay up there for 3 days. Nobody else will be able to post other polls that might actually matter. Nobody is banning humor in here. That would just be silly willy!

There is no "poll" option for sift talk. Maybe there should be? There hasn't been a "serious" poll for 9 days. I wasn't planning on fighting world war 3 over this. Nor was I planning another poll for a long time. All I saw was an opening for a poll spot and I took it. No one here who has posted actually had a poll to post, they are just mad to be mad.

I don't think anyone here has a problem with humour (I certainly don't). But jokes are generally supposed to be funny. FYI.

Oh I know you weren't mad @seltar. I have posted a sift talk relating to the possible expansion of the polling tool on videosift. Maybe 1 poll at a time isn't enough. 2 maybe? With the strict guidelines for 1 of the polling slots and relaxed guidelines for the other? That is my thought.

OK we have been pretty loose on these- what I would describe as "novelty polls" but it hunk the novelty is gone. Especially when there are a lot of pressing matters we're dealing with that could use this real estate in Sift Talk. In the future, please keep it Sift related, and it least have it make grammatical sense. *discard
